Prominent or Ordinary....

I heard his interview today as he took full responsibility for vetting (or lack of ) Daschle. He said he does not want there to be two sets of rules....One set for PROMINENT Americans, and one for ORDINARY Americans. Hmmmm-that's it? Only two types of people in America?
What's your opinion and which class do you fit in?

Ordinary Bible thumping, gun toting, tax paying American. The Prominents are the ones who are rich by taking the ordinary's money and giving it to the welfare frauds,. then there is another class who are super rich like George Soros and the CEO greed crowd. Daschle has always been a lowlife prominent. Obama said he was going to reduce lobby power in Government then he tries to appoint Daschle , a good ole boy member of the congressional club who was voted out because of his elitist attitude and questionable dealings. He is a super lobbyist! This guy is a crook and Obama walks the fine line between legality and crookedness. After all he was an ACORN community organizer!

Wow..it sure doesn't take much for you get upset. I think that the term 'ordinary Americans' is a figure of speech, or an expression of art. It serves to compare and contrast those who the public knows by name or reputation, and those that aren't nationally or internationally known. It doesn't mean that in some qualitative or quantitative sense that some people are 'better' than others. The utterance about 'guns and Bibles' is another misunderstood quote. It means that in times of trouble people gravitate to what is known and familiar. I suppose he could have said that in times like these people tend to live a little lower on the food chain, or even develop a 'bunker mentality'. Ah, well....the right wing talk show dummies have to have something to kvetch about. Since they're not about to deal with unfair trade practices, corporate swindling, climate change, alternate energy, reducing borrowing to fund two wars, over population, unaffordable health insurance and a host of other pressing problems I guess they can rehash figures of speech......something the ditto-heads don't find too challenging. No kiddin'!

You were outraged by him taking responsibility for Daschle? That IS what his statement was referring to, Mainly, that he takes responsibility for Daschle, somebody the consevatives have been screaming about, and secondly the two sets of rules that seem to apply to members of the "good 'ol boy" club, and the rest of us ORDINARY Americans. What did you want him to say? Did you think that was an appropriate time to dissect all of the sub-groups of our society? I am an ORDINARY American, if I mess up on my taxes I have to pay interest and penalties. I don't have friends that can hand out political favors. What on earth is so terrible about being ordinary?

The point of the "ordinary Americans" statement was to say that he didn't agree with the double standard in America, NOT to classify people. You're reaching here and it's showing...

Synonyms for ordinary are: average, general, normal, usual, common, plain.

I don't know about you, but I see myself as an average citizen of this country. That means I'm an 'ordinary' person.

If a Republican President had said this, would you be making a big deal out of it?

Please, we have more important things to be concerned with. We complain when liberals take things conservatives say out of context and now you're doing the same thing. I really don't care if Obama or any of the other prominent people think I'm ordinary I never believed that any of the prominent people give a crap about the rest of us anyway.

Prominent and ordinary are not statuses under the law. Citizens rank just above subjects, both of which fall far below the top ranked individual and freeperson.

he's a citizen, yet his citizenship isn't that of a organic born American citizen and thanks to that he's forbidden by utilising the form to be a U.S. President. A falsified "reproduction" of a Hawaiian beginning checklist is all that grew to become into ever presented whilst pressed for information of Obama's citizenship. in reality, he grew to become into born in Kenya. it rather is documented in an interview with Obama's paternal grandmother whilst he grew to become a U.S. senator. She stated his beginning in Kenya and not imagining her little grandson could at some point replace right into a senator interior the U.S. further, whether Granny Obama have been given her wires crossed and at a loss for words little BO with yet another grandkid, any U.S. citizenship he could have had at beginning grew to become into renounced whilst his stepfather secured his citizenship in Indonesia. In Indonesia, you should be a citizen to attend public college, which BO did. the element to debate alongside with your uncle is this: If Obama isn't eligible to be a U.S. President (and the two Republicans and Democrats knew this earlier he even ran), why is he our President? Why did the media gown him up and spoon him down usa of america's throat, and why did the Republicans "throw" the swing votes to the Democrats by utilising working the oldest candidate to ever run for the Presidency with a youthful lady vp candidate that grew to become into green to the element that few had self assurance in her working the rustic ought to the "previous guy" kick the bucket? there is lots of nastiness surrounding the subject of BO's citizenship and that i urge you to analyze it extra completely than what's here. regrettably, you is in basic terms no longer waiting to tutor your uncle incorrect in this one. I wish you are going to be able to desire to.

He has already proven that to be a lie.

Geithner is still in his administration. If the Daschle deal is wrong, then it's also wrong to keep Geithner.

Too little too late.

He publicly stood by these tax dodgers, proving that he's a part of the system that politicians think that they're above the law.

Politicians don't want to pay the same huge taxes that they saddle us with, squandering our tax dollars and giving them to cronies and special interests, and wasting the rest.

It's time to clean up government, and that includes Obama.

Obama needs to dump Geither now. He's aready shown his poor judgement and lack of ethics.

I voted for Obama, and I won't make the same mistake twice.

Anyone who believes a politician is a fool.

I am an ORDINARY American. His distinction is no different then that of the "Haves" and "Have nots" which is more noticeable with the destruction of the middle class.

If this is the best mistake Obama can ever do, then we should consider ourselves lucky.

This question is kind of ridiculous, and irrelevant. we all know what he meant. There are indeed 2 sets of rules a lot of time. He used "prominent" and "ordinary" to illustrate that point. I have a feeling that you'd overanalyze it no matter what his choice of words

But to answer: I'm ordinary. I'm a student. I havent made any great accomplishments that have made me well known to the public.

Look prominent up in the dictionary, sparky.

1. standing out so as to be seen easily; conspicuous; particularly noticeable: Her eyes are her most prominent feature.

2. standing out beyond the adjacent surface or line; projecting.

3. leading, important, or well-known: a prominent citizen.

Who is he to *classify* people? There is no such thing as an ordinary person because everyone is special! Gawd, such audacity on his part.
