Question:
Do liberals owe Sarah Palin an apology?
2008-11-03 20:32:46 UTC
According to this article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081104/ap_on_el_pr/palin_troopergate

She was cleared of all charges for "troopergate". Does the liberal smear machine owe her an apology? If not will the liberal smear machine at least admit they were WRONG?

If she was Obama, someone would have to apologize.

He's had to be apologized so much during this time and has denounced so many people its been ridiculous.

Liberals admit they are wrong?

When they can be hypocritical?

That simply isn't possible.

A few days ago, one particular liberal was still ranting that somehow BIL AYERS wasn't a terrorist, since he was not convicted.

His reasoning was that since Bill Ayers, although arrested in 1976, was released in 1977, due to "Prosecutorial Misconduct".

Do you believe OJ is guilty or innoncent?

A stupid prosecutor, is all that kept Ayers out of prison, not innocence. Double jeopardy laws prevent him from being recharged. His colleagues, Evans and Rosenburg, were charged, in 1981, on weapons and explosives charges, to be pardoned by....Bill Clinton, in his final days of office.

Ayers was a terrorist. He is still definitely unrepentant, and anti-American, and should NOT be in ANY educational institution, teaching ANYTHING to children.

Palin has been found innocent.

That is different. No lawyer messed up the trial, setting her free.

Her case was properly deliberated, and had come to a successful conclusion.

Liberals should apologize...and take another look at Barry's scumbag friend, Ayers.

confident there is no longer something like a pogrom or 2 to coach who suffers extra, an Alaskan twit who gets some dying threats and a villager whose house is burned to the floor and whose females are raped in the fields as they run and hide. undesirable, undesirable Palin. She suffered so whilst that propose Katie individual asked what she examine, and that sneaky question approximately the different superb courtroom judgements besides Roe v. Wade. The Liberal smear machine has too much of an attitude to ever apologize. They hurt decent people, smear their good names, slander them, and in some cases they hurt the families of the person being smeared.

I'll never , ever forget sitting here watching the John Roberts hearings. Judge Roberts is highly, highly intelligent and handled the attacks coming from Kennedy, Schumer, and Biden like a champ. But I was sitting here watching as the camera cut over to Mrs. Roberts and she was crying. Her husband was under attack by that wild pack of attack dogs and she was hurting for him.

The liberals later on the news were all over her for "putting on quite a show." I'll tell you what, the liberals in congress are like animals.

First of all, she was NOT cleared of anything in the "troopergate" scandal.

The board that said she had "no direct responsibility" for what happened, was a Panel of three appointees - appointed by HER!

A separate legislative Panel looked into this last month and DID hold her responsible! This Panel was made up of Republicans as well as Democrats!

And as for who owes who an apology - Sarah Palin has a LOT of nerve saying that people like me, who live in blue states, and vote for Democratic candidates, aren't as American as her supporters are!

I am a public school teacher. I work with poor children. I have two kids. I pay my mortgage. I pay my taxes. I vote. I volunteer. I try to better myself and my community.

What makes exactly me un-American?

Who died and made her the arbiter of who is and is not a real American????

That was an insult! Plain and simple.

I think WE liberals are deserving of an apology from HER!

No.

"Liberal smear machine"? Faux News at work again...

The State Personnel board who cleared Palin was appointed by her. That would be like you going on trial for something and your judge was someone you had appointed. Oh yeah, that's fair!

It was the State Legislature (consisting of Repubs AND Democratics) who concluded she DID abuse her power, albeit not to the point where any laws were broken.

If anyone is owed an apology, it's that poor guy who lost his job because he wouldn't involve himself in Palin's attempt at revenge.
2008-11-03 20:41:17 UTC
They owe her an apology in a BIG way for many reasons. They just couldn't stand the new face of feminism, so they did anything to rip her apart.

And this makes me wonder. Has Obama been cleared of the ACORN scandal?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
2008-11-03 20:39:12 UTC
Yeah, they were probably the same guys that absolved Bush of all lies concerning WMD's in Iraq- even though his administration outed the CIA agent and Ambassador who tried to prove otherwise as was later proven to be true. Believe what you must but don't forget that she's just a wacko broad who should be sliding down a brass pole in a darkened bar. Alright, that's a bit much. Ok, she may be a fine Mayor of a town of about 9,000 people, granted, she does after all have some executive experience! "My next Executive decision is, no more snow blowers and snowmobile drag racing after midnight, whether the sun is still up or not! And I mean business, boy do I ever!"

Yes they do, but she is a strong woman that really doesn't need approval. Let some of the people that talk negative about her, live her life in the wilderness, they would be begging to get back to the concrete cities. Have you walked the trail, think not, if ya throw negative comments. She's where most of us would never be, and listen to the jerks that think shes stupid, oh please, I want to be stupid, LMAO! I think maybe you would benefit from fact checker. I just read that she was cleared by the personnel department of the state of Alaska. The original charges came from the Congress from the state of Alaska and they found her guilty. So what you had there were two different departments in the same state one saying bad girl the other saying good girl. Who is more right the personnel department or the congress? I couldn't tell you. But I am not apologizing to anyone this is their own mess. And as I have heard my entire life - where there is smoke there is a fire..............

Nah. They were not really impartial. IMO. Most of the reasons I do not like Palin had nothing to do with "troopergate," come to think of it. That was just like a cherry on top, so you can have the cherry back if you want, but my sundae is still delicious.

They'll get right on that, I'm sure.

Yes, they do, but their heads are too full of "Obama is awesome" air. When he, along with our Democratic Congress, run this country into the ground even further than we imagined, they will realize what a terrible mistake they have made by voting for the racist Obama. They won't admit that either though.

When pranked a couple of days ago she completely missed her easiest clue, when the prankster gave (intentionally I might add, since he was a Canadian) of the Canadian Prime Minister. It went right over her head. Is that the sort of person you want one heartbeat away from the oval office? Not me, send her back to Alaska. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.

2008-11-03 20:45:38 UTC
No. Ironically, she was cleared of wrongdoing of abuse of authority for firing someone by a board that she could fire. Real danger in that investigation pal.

Besides, she owes me an apology for having to hear her mispronounce nuclear.

um, no. because (from the article)

"It conflicts with the first investigation and then casts doubts on both of them. So, it doesn't really resolve anything," he said. "If it did, then I could walk away. It does seem to fly in the face if circumstantial evidence."

no, she still has her bones in the closet. How could you support anyone who spends 150,000 just for clothes, from the campaign money? She down grades people's morales, but was an unwed mother herself. No apology needed.
Joeyboy
2008-11-03 20:41:33 UTC
Your own article states that this conflicts with the first investigation (by the Legislature). She is not "cleared", in fact, this opens another can of worms, focusing the spotlight on Alaskan politics, and where their sympathies lie, depending on who is doing the "judging".

No one owes anything to Palin. As a public official, she is SUPPOSED to be held accountable for her actions in position. It is SHE who needs to address this issue squarely. You own article also states that she only gave one deposition and was never subpoenaed to appear personally to answer questions. Given her stature, I find it terribly lacking that all they went by was a deposition and they gave their judgement.

No. The only reason she got that ruling is because the Personnel board was all hired by HER and she has the power to fire them.

The other ruling was a non-partisan board, they found her liable.

Kimberly C
2008-11-03 20:36:14 UTC
Okay, I'm clearing this up. There's TWO investigations. One bipartisan. One by Palin.

The Alaska Legislative Council is a bipartisan body of state House and Senate members who can convene to make decisions when the full Legislature is not in session. As of July 2008 it was made up of four Democrats and eight Republicans. On July 28, 2008, the Legislative Council voted 12-0 to hire an independent investigator to investigate Palin and her staff for possible abuse of power or improper actions surrounding Monegan's dismissal.

THIS INDEPENDENT TROOPERGATE FOUND SHE ACTED UNETHICAL

The second was filed on September 1, Palin essentially filed an ethics complaint against herself, asking the state Personnel Board to review the case. Her lawyer asked the state Legislature to drop its investigation, saying that by state law, the board had jurisdiction over ethics issues. Palin also asked that the Board review the matter as an ethics complaint."

THIS IS YOUR YAHOO ARTICLE. THE ONE SHE FILED SEPARATELY.

She wasn't found guilty of ethical charges by the second "investigation" but she still an idiot none the less.
