"Alaska's Total tax revenue (TTT) for 2007 was: $3,545,865,901

In 2007 85.76% of Alaska state total tax revenue (TTT) came from the oil industry. (in the form of 4 different taxes).

Here are all the other sources of revenue contributing 1% or more of the total tax take:

Corporate Income - Other than Oil and Gas 4.99%

Mining License 2.23%

Tobacco 2.05%

Motor Fuel 1.12%

Alcoholic Beverages 1.02%

Fisheries Business 1.00%

You say: Huh? Where is the state sales tax or the state income tax?

Alaska has neither.

So you can see the state government does not have a tough job raising the money to do whatever.
