Question:
Socialism has finally arrived in America, shame it wasn't in the form of free healthcare for the sick.?

Medical bills are one of the biggest causes of people losing their homes in the USA. Socialism isn't evil if it is only mildly implemented. The USA taxpayer may even make a profit when things pick up.

Other aspects of our society have been socialized for quite some time. For example: libraries, police officers, firemen, and education. You don't see anyone complaining about that, though. Just give it time, healthcare will come around.

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand."

It is simple," said the Lord. "It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

Today's socialism is for the rich it is not for the taxpaying middle and lower class.

If we truly want a healthy economy then we need to have a healthy work force. Preventative Medicine is the best way to go. The Insurance companies watch the pennies while their dollars fly out the window.

The Republicans have rewarded CEOs, Oil and Pharmacy corporations for ever. The only reason it's getting notice now is because the Democrats want to share the wealth with the Middle class and the Neo Right can't stand the fact that it is feasible for the Working families.

Socialism alreadys exists here.

One example among many; Just having public schools in this Country is a form of socialism.

Read a book once in a while instead of the just stuff you see in a forum or a blog.

I agree with you. But its coming. Baby steps. The Reps have made people think such a thing is evil. You must move slow.

I agree with Mr. Samsa. Public libraries, police departments, fire departments, public schools, public roads and even the military are all "forms" of socialism. We all pay for these things with our tax dollars. They all serve us well.

Disgusting and stupid how any body disagree with that.

Don't forget, the government is handing out money to the very institutions that screwed things up in the first place.

On paper socialism doesn't look that bad in fact it looks attractive but in practice I don't think it works all that good

Too many throw that term around without knowing the true definition. It is my wish, that you all educate yourself better before assuming you know what it really means. There is NO socialism in America. Not in the true sense.

Haven't you heard?

"Free healthcare" isn't free.

So by that logic stealing isn't evil if you only steal a little bit?

Or assault isn't evil if you only hurt them a little bit?

Or murder isn't evil if you only kill a couple people?
