The Repubs keep posting this video- Can you help me disprove it?

Question

It claims that Obama's friends and the democrats are responsible for a lot of the financial crisis.

The problem is- it looks pretty convincing!

Please watch it and give me your suggestions for how to counteract these attacks? I fear this is gonna be big news next week...

(and yes, I know u-tube is not the best news source- but if you watch the video you can see the sites they used and they all seem legit when I check the stories out)

I need specifics! Help!

The reason for the current economic crisis is due to the Republicans and Bush administration. And yes, John McCain. The fact that they have championed deregulation is the cause of the problem. These businesses were running their corporations in a corrupt manner. They were giving out loans to people who they knew could not afford them. Their corrupt and aggressive behavior are the reasons for this. It never would have happened if the government instituted wise regulation. Obama has been a strong advocate of wise government regulation. Read Obamanomics. You can get some good ideas from there. I can't remember the specifics from the book, but this crisis is not due to Obama or his friends. It has red all over it, Republicans!

If you actually slow down this video, use pause, enlarge the screen, you'll notice that virtually all the damage done occurred from the year 2000 and after wards, during the Bush years in office.



If you actually read the rest of the articles, instead of the Democratic highlighted names, these sources do not lay the blame on Clinton or Carter but on the deregulation of the industry.



Guess who the chief architects of deregulation are? It started with Reagan and continued with Bush.



The people who created this video are hoping the average person is too lazy or too easily mislead to actually read the articles they have misrepresented.



EDIT: And I doubt seriously if you looked up the sources (which I've done) because if you did you would know that the articles put much of the blame on deregulation, a Republican strong point, and on Bush policies. Try actually reading each article and read the whole article through.



EDIT FOR TRUTH: From your other 'questions' and 'answers' it's obvious that you have a specific agenda and truth isn't as important to you as it should be. You're hardly a Democrat and have no intention or desire to deal with the facts, the truth: the truth being that this video is as bogus are Sarah Palin claiming she never seeked out pork money. LOL...It's simple. All you have to do is point out the fact that the problem is not the mortgages that were issued to poor people it's the type of mortgages (Adjustable Rate Mortgages) that is the problem. The mortgage companies pushed them on people and the rates went up faster than peoples wages went up so they weren't able to pay them. Why haven't wages kept up with inflation? Bush's tax breaks to the rich and nothing for the middle class and poor. Good paying jobs going over seas leaving low wage jobs for Americans. Decreased funding for student financial aid so fewer students are able to attend college. Excess government spending on foreign soil and no investment in our own country. That's the Republicans handy work. Bottom line it's greed and predatory lending that's the underlining problem. Not trying to help people achieve the American dream of home ownership. They will say the government "forced" them to issue those mortgages but it isn't true. Just keep in mind that no matter what you say or evidence you produce to counter it, they will still blame it on Democrats. If all of this is Carter and Clinton's fault then why is it just now coming to light? Why didn't it fall apart during Clinton's watch?

I have been pretty emersed in this for nearly a year. There are things on both sides that I don't particularly care for. It would be smart if you would not only look at that video, but look at everything you can get your hands on. I know, as an Obama supporter, that there is a ton of **** out there on McCain. You need to take it all in and then make a decision. My opinion is that McCain is for big oil and Obama is for the people. He may not have the experience, but he is a smart man who really cares about improving the lives of the middle class. You decide only after you get all the facts. They all have there problems, but Obama is the better choice.

They are basicly blaming poor people for buying homes. It doesn't stand up to the facts. If you take a list of states by average income and cross reference that with a list of the percent of forclosures by state you find that only one state of the 5 states with the lowest foreclosure rates is in the top half by income -- that would be Vermont 2nd from bottom on foreclosures, 17th from top by income. The top 5 by foreclosures has 3 states in the top 20 by income.
