Why do obama supporters try to defend his his pastor, Rev. Wright? Same question about his wife.?

I mean, Rev. Wright is so racist against whites, it's not even funny. And Obama's wife, she is unpatriotic to the bone.

That's the only way his supporters know how to respond. He has no good qualities or experience so they have to try anything to try to fool the voters.

Not trying to defend his pastor. I agree completely that Obama should have distanced himself from Wright long ago but now he has so let it go. Fox can probably stop showing the excerpts from the sermons every 10 minutes now. As far as his wife, she should not have said what she did only because she should have realized that the media and anti Obama people would twist it and some illiterate people would believe the spin.

Most people that defend Rev Wrights comments are people who have seen America through a different set of glasses. Not all Americans have the same experience, therefore we have the right to form our own opinions of America. I will give the example of a person who attends a university; you are obviously going to have people that have a favorable opinion of the schools polices and atmosphere, and some with a negative one, but most of the opinions are going to be bast on each persons individual experience. For example, if you went to Bethune-Cookman University, the school i attended, you will get many different opinions of the school. All will be based on each persons individual experience at that school and not what they have heard.

Maybe because we don't all have the same perspectives and opinions that you do. Those are YOUR opinions, right? Not necessarily mine?

Rev. Wright is fairly old and came through the civil rights movement in the 60s, a very turbulent time. I did, too. If you had had rabid dogs and fire hoses turned on you just because you wanted to be able to vote, perhaps you wouldn't have a great opinion of some of the things that have gone on in America, either.

Fortunately, every generation gets less and less racist, it seems. So many young people coming along today don't even understand what the fuss is about. Maybe if you had time, you could read on the internet about some of the things that happened when Rev. Wright was young, and it would help you understand better what he might be thinking and feeling (even if you still wouldn't agree with him).

It's wrong for you to attempt to judge another person's feelings and beliefs (whether Michelle Obama or Rev. Wright) when you have never experienced the things they have and have never walked in their shoes.

Most of the people who are going so crazy about the pastor weren't going to vote for Obama anyway; they are just using this, at the behest of Hannity mainly, to attempt to destroy him.

I would like us to get back to being a country where Americans can respect each other and have different viewpoints without the politics of personal destruction. What do you think? Wouldn't that make our America a better country?

Because people like you blow it out of proportion. Wright has so many positive accomplishments in his 36 years of working in his community that if you read the list you would crap your pants. But that's not what you're focused on. You'd rather focus on 3 minutes of negative comments and that equivocate that to meaning that Obama endorses the same values than read what he has actually done to help his community over the decades.

So in summary, I don't support Rev. Wright's racial comments. And neither does Obama. Can't you listen to what someone has taught you about Jesus and Christianity without also endorsing his unpatriotic comments? It's obvious enough that Obama is patriotic.

Why don't you go become a civil rights attorney and fight for the rights of fellow Americans, then become a community organizer and do the same thing, then pass legislation on things like child support, healthcare reform, and ethics reform, then become a congressman who devotes his life to bringing forth solutions and motivating people to stand up for their country, THEN tell me he's unpatriotic.

Anyone who supports Obama is a terrorist-lover? I guess half the country supports terrorism. Amazing logic.

It is difficult to defend the actions of those whom Obama has chosen to surround himself with. The rev. Wright is irreverent and Wrong. He is a racist of the worst type. May he soon bark in hell for the damage he has caused to race relations in America.

How can Rev. Wright bash white people and call Obama a "black boy"?!?

Look at him! He is damn near WHITE himself. It's obvious that his so called BLACK PRIDE is a joke! He is a heinz-57 himself!

Are you also asking why people are not accusing Bill Clinton, a sexual pervert, for being a mentor for Chelsea for MORE THAN 20 years, and influencing her as her MENTOR for promoting sexual pervertness to be like her father?

Are you accusing the Public for not thinking that all the Evangelicals under Ted Haggard's parish are closeted homosexuals?

Or against those who are not accusing Spitzers' close friends as also frequenting whore houses and humping around prostitutes like he did?

Or for not being angry at all Catholics who attended the Churches, run by pedophile priests, as they, too, are closeted child abusing pedophiles?

If Hannity of Fox had attended a Catholic Church, attended by a Pedophile priest, is he too a child-molesting pedophile?

Because Wright helped him find Christ, as he said in his interview.
