Will Obama model his "Fairness Doctrine" after this one in the attached link. Already Obama promised to destroy the 2nd Amendment so why not the 1st Amendment too?

A letter from a Cuban

From Richmond Times-Dispatch, Monday, July 7, 2008 ~

Dear Editor, Times-Dispatch:

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice.

On June 30 I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4 I celebrate America 'S. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.

I've thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, so when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said, 'Praise the Lord.' And when the young leader said, 'I will be for change and I'll bring you change,' everyone yelled, 'Viva Fidel!'

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent, the people's guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented, Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over, more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I'm back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we in America would n ever fall for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America ?

Would we?

After reading your question, I did some research and found something written by tomw, and I quote;

I know what the Fairness Doctrine is and I also know that Hillary, Pelosi and other Dems have talked about using it to shut down people like Rush Limbaugh.

As for Obama, I judge him by his actions, not his words. He drifts with whatever political winds are favorable at a given time and, what’s much more disturbing, he and Axelrod unleash their most fanatical goons against media that dare speak against them.

Obama has sued to get the government to shut down campaign ads opposing him! Are you even aware of that? Read up on his persecution of WGN radio in Chicago and the guests on that station. The Obama fanatics swarm the station with harassing phone calls and emails in attempts to SHUT DOWN free speech. An Obama White House combined with a Pelosi Congress would be a catastrophe for the US and the closest thing to fascism we’ve ever seen.

Reminds me of Salman Rushdie and the Dutch cartoon that caused a bounty on the cartoonist's head.

I think that capitalism is too strong to take away people's voices, since advertisers pay so much for spots on "contraversial" programs and publications.

If Obama wins, there might be a corporate coup of the government!

Obama will shut down talk radio and thus shut down most of the radio stations across the U.S. since most of their revenues come from conservative talk radio. Secondly, he will take away our guns. If you don't have a gun, you should buy one. And plenty of ammo. When Obama takes away our guns, then only his corrupt government of his special civilian police that he has mentioned will be in control. Never give up your gun, just simply call the police and say it has been stolen. If this happens, we will become the 58th Islamic state because we won't be able to stop it without weapons. Also, criminals and drug dealers will still have weapons and will be empowered to come in your home and kill you or take when they want knowing you can't fight back.

WHY DID OBAMA CAMPAIGN FOR ODINGA? FOR MONEY?? OR TO COVER HIS MOMBASSA BIRTH??

Initially, Mr. Odinga was not the favored opposition candidate to stand in the 2007 election against President Mwai Kibaki, who was seeking his second term. However, he received a tremendous boost when Sen. Barack Obama arrived in Kenya in August 2006 to campaign on his behalf. Mr. Obama denies that supporting Mr. Odinga was the intention of his trip, but his actions and local media reports tell otherwise.

Mr. Odinga and Mr. Obama were nearly inseparable throughout Mr. Obama's six-day stay. The two traveled together throughout Kenya and Mr. Obama spoke on behalf of Mr. Odinga at numerous rallies. In contrast, Mr. Obama had only criticism for Kibaki. He lashed out against the Kenyan government shortly after meeting with the president on Aug. 25. "The [Kenyan] people have to suffer over corruption perpetrated by government officials," Mr. Obama announced.

but I do not believe I can get that stoned before passing out.

President Obama will work on your behalf, even if you grumble as you succeed.
