So do tell me, WHERE is the great savings in the USA vs. Canadas system of health care for all and 1 year paid maternity leave for new moms? admit it, the USA IS LACKING in a health care system and here we have no paid maternity leave act?? what the hell this is the USA right?? so great I dont think so!! I dont know what over $100 dollars a week plus all the taxes we pay equals out to be percentage wise, but Canadas system is looking better and better vs. US . Instead of saying MOVE there, as your solution, let's FIX THE US and get HEALTH CARE FOR all like every presidental canidate says they will do but NEVER accomplish!! and make the family leave act of 12 weeks at least PAID!!

Here in Britain, my sister is 3 months pregnant, and the stress of only 6 months Maternity Leave is making her ill.

She was going to move to Canada - I thinkshe'd have been much better off there!

You should move to Canada.

Yeah, Canada's health system is great, and Canadian's will tell you so. But ask a Canadian that has actually had to USE it. Most Canadians only need minor things like immunization. Great, but what happens when someone needs REAL care?

Canada does not have the state-of-the-art equipment. It does not have the best specialists. And God forbid you ever need specialist care. You're put on a long waiting list. That's why, when Canadians need real care, they come to the US. If all you need is a shot or something basic, then Canada is fine.

Why don't you check out how much the recent supreme court ruling in Canada was welcomed? It said that the government could not forbid people from paying for their own doctors. That used to be the law in Canada. When you were put on that death sentence, I mean, waiting list, people had no choice but to wait, or go to the US.

Yeah, we have a bit of a messed up system. But going to Canadian-style socialism won't fix anything. Things will cost what they do, no matter what form that cost will take: dollars, time, etc. It doesn't matter.

And if we go to Canada's system, say goodbye to all the research and development, all the new drugs, new technologies, and new procedures here. That's another hidden cost.
