Now that Palin's daughter is pregnant will she support legislation on pregnancy prevention instead of still preaching abstinence when we know abstinence is not working.

No, it is a Liberal trait to change your views based entirely on your personal circumstances.

Conservatives views are based on principle's. Our personal situation is not the deciding factor because all humans are flawed, including us.

Palins opposition to birth control is not based on the idea that her daughter would never get pregnant with poor timing, it is based on the fact that birth control gives a false sense of security to a person who then thinks they can sleep around without consequences. In reality, there are many negative consequences to sleeping around even if the person does not get pregnant.

Her daughter is going to marry the father and is grateful for the child, but most women (and girls) on birth control are not having sex with men that would marry them or anyone else and who would never take responsibility for a child or any other thing they do.

If Palin changed her position now it would mean she had never thought the position through in the first place & only chose her position on what was politically expedient........You know, like Democrats.

honey, abstinence does work, but you gotta practice it. Just so you know, I was on the pill and became pregnant, I am the result of failed birth control as I am sure there are thousands and thousands of people, so lets not all criticize teen pregnancy prevention and abstinence only teachings. It works well in combination. I am sure there are many teens that went through prevention classes that have turned up pregnant. Just because something is taught does not mean the teens always listen, and that is true for both methods.

Remind me how abstinence is responsible for her pregnancy? You can teach a person the right way to act, but if they choose to ignore it, does that mean that you stop teaching? Not at all. It is a small liberal mind who can't see that.

Liberal's "logic" is always so interesting. A conservative would say "don't do drugs, it will ruin your life". A liberal says "they're going to do drugs anyway, so lets give them clean needles". A conservative would say "don't have premarital sex because you'll likely get pregnant or get an STD". A liberal says "people are going to have sex anyway, so lets teach kindergartners how to put condoms on bananas and make abortion easily available." A conservative says "punish criminals and put them in jail". A liberal says "don't judge people. We should rehabilitate criminals and let them out of jail".

They live in upside-down land and accuse conservatives of being stupid. But these are also people who think the inability to answer a question clearly means they are nuanced and therefore, more enlightened. In liberal-land, confusion is enlightenment. It is an important lesson to remember when dealing with them.

Only time will tell. Abstinence does work if you CHOOSE to not have sex---it's that simple. However, the choice to abstain is an entirely personal decision, so people should be educated about pregnancy prevention should they CHOOSE to start having sex. I do feel that her daughter should be kept out of the spotlight as she does have a right to privacy.

Yes, we know abstinence does not work. Teenagers get pregnant all the time. Why does this seem to be only Palin's problem, her daughter is not the first and won't be the last. Why condemn a potentially great leader because a teenager makes bad decisions and doesn't listen to her parents. Get real!!!!

Hardly, she is not her daughter. Her daughter doesn't make her decisions and it won't change a thing. Remember, Obama is the one always saying change but never says what change.

I'm poor but I think that most people on welfare are just plain lazy.

Abstinence isn't working for her daughter, obviously, but that's not to say abstinence education doesn't work.

Last I heard, no - they don't want any money going toward sex education or prevention at all.

She better.

Teaching only abstinence is stupid.

My school teaches about prevention rather than only abstinence and nobody in my school is pregnant. Yet, everybody knows that most of us are having sex.

Palin supports contraception.

She is pro-contraception and said she's a member of a pro-woman but anti-abortion group called Feminists for Life. "I believe in the strength and the power of women, and the potential of every human life," she said.

The fact that her daughter made a stupid choice makes her one of millions...millions the dems would supoort freely.

Mmmm.... probably not. Iraq has taught us that Republicans are incapable of admitting mistakes. They'll just keep doing the same thing over and over - anything but admit they were wrong!

I doubt it. Most politicians like to keep working in broken systems.
