Why did CNN decide to pull its TV crew from Palin's meeting with Karzai?

John McCain's presidential campaign has shielded the first-term Alaska governor for weeks from spontaneous questions from voters and reporters, and went to striking lengths Tuesday to maintain that distance as Palin made her diplomatic debut.

The GOP campaign, applying more restrictive rules on access than even President Bush uses in the White House, banned reporters from the start of the meetings, so as not to risk a question being asked of Palin.

McCain aides relented after news organizations objected and CNN, which was supplying TV footage to a variety of networks, decided to pull its TV crew from Palin's meeting with Karzai.

Because the Palin/McCain handlers were blocking access to other media and news outlets.

They pulled their crew to protest the fact that the news outlets are not being allowed to ask her questions or be in on the meet and greets while she is at the U.N.

There was a Wall Street Journal writer that was to be in on the U.N. meetings, than the McCain people decided she wasn't to be in on the meetings then after pressure from various news organizations they are allowing the jouranalist in on the meetings.

I still think it's funny that Palin only got a passport last year.

I'm 37 and I've had a passport for 12 years. Foreign policy experience my azz.

JWC: A witch hunt? Why is it when Republicans are questioned it's persecution? C'mon now!! It's time for the Republican's to quit crying 'victim'. If they cannot intelligently handle questions from a US press then how are they going to answer the questions of tough world leaders. I am sick and tired of Republican's WHINING about S. Palin being a victim. This is the United States of America and if she is running for Vice Presidency she better hurry up and get tough enough to answer questions because this darn job is not for wimps!!!!!! Same goes for McCain!!

That was decided by Palin people because she looks dumb every time camera crews see her in an interview.

They don't want the press near Palin because she doesn't know squat about anything and she'll just embarrass herself.

Can you really blame them? CNN, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and the like have been on a witch hunt where she is concerned. There have been outrageous attacks on her and her family and people get upset when the media doesn't get to have a reporter there for the photo session? Its a photo session, not a question and answer session so the idiot reporter didn't need to be there.

This is going to hurt the McCain campaign---avoiding reporters this much is causing them to lose even more momentum

Anything that might make her look good is wrong to the liberal media.
