Question:
The "monster" comment and negative talking points?

Alright, this whole "monster" comment discussion is driving me crazy.
We all know that there are people who support candidates that really just say the talking points of their campaign. There are some McCain, Clinton, and Obama supporters that do it. But I've seen something interesting happening over the past 24 hours. Ever since this story broke about an Obama aide calling Clinton a "monster," I've seen a lot of Obama supporters talking about "Hillary the monster" or other comments along those lines.

My qustion is this: Why do these people feel compelled to restate this negative rhetoric, even when Obama himself has denied it? Has "obamamania" really gone this far?

And I do understand that many Obama supporters aren't doing this, but I'm seeing several who do.

Several.

Yet you say "Obamamania" -- isn't that a smear, not of just ONE person, who is knowable, but of millions, only several of which are using the "m" word?

Several.

Yes, the phenomenon of Obamamania has spread to several people.

And that's a problem because...?

Before Yahoo started getting serious about enforcing the Guidelines, there were several DOZEN, possibly over a hundred people here who routinely posted questions about "LIE-berals" -- a smear of the majority of the adult population of America.

I've seen many dozens of posts calling Obama a terrorist.

Does that means everyone who opposes him is a hate-mongering, brain-dead freak?

Several people have picked up "monster" -- and this is evidence of HOW widespread an Obamamania?

Why is supporting a particular candidate a sign of mental illness?

Isn't suggesting that each of the voters for that candidate are mentally deranged something akin to a very few people who call someone a monster?

"I've seen a lot of Obama supporters talking about..."

"...many Obama supporters aren't doing this..."

"...but I'm seeing several who do..."

Huh? At any rate, this isn't an "Obamamania" question. This is a politics question. There are hate mongers who tow the party line for every candidate, for every party. So don't try and make this about Obama or the people who support him. If you really want to talk about this, then do it honestly.

Hillary needs to suck it up and quit being so sensitive. Many people have called her far worse than a monster. She's been at the forefront of the attacks on anyone that opposes her (and Bubba). Poor little Hillary. Who is she to demand that Obama get rid of her?

Oh please, toughen up. I think it is a sorry set of affairs when you lose your job for calling someone a monster.

Isn't that what campaigning is all about? ya know, being all nasty and whatnot to win the election. Let the voters decide if they have 'crossed the line', not judged from within the camp!

The Obamites have become very radical. It mostly has to do with the young voters. They get caught up in his rhetoric and dreams of change. They love the rock star theatrics and the chanting. PRESENT! PRESENT!PRESENT!PRESENT!PRESENT!PRESENT!PRESENT!
