Why do conservatives keep accusing Obama of granting "amnesty" to illegals?

Obama has never once suggested amnesty. In fact, Ronald Reagan was the only modern president who granted true amnesty.

I have heard some conservatives call Obama's proposal "amnesty light." What the hell does that mean? It's a meaningless buzzword designed to rile up the conservative base.

How about we deal in facts? Obama has proposed a path to citizenship for people who fall into a very specific category:

1. They were brought to America by their parents under the age of 14
2. They have graduated high school
3. They have served honorably in the military or graduated college
4. They have no criminal record

These are the type of people America wants. They have already proven their ability to contribute, and our tax dollars have already paid for their education. Personally, I want a return on my investment.

Yet conservatives intentionally muddy the waters by suggesting Obama wants to grant "amnesty." Why are conservatives doing this?

For the same reason they claim he was not born in the U.S., that he is corrupt and that he engages in unconstitutional action as a matter of course. That reason is they want to convince their ignorant followers that he is a bad man. I expect any time to hear them accuse him of torturing kittens!

Obama wants to "reward" those here illegally with immediate Citizenship and forgive their illegal entry across U.S. Borders. That is a fact!



THAT IS AMNESTY!



By the way, anyone serving in The United States Military, is already a United States Citizen. If not, then then someone is lying. One of the requirements for military service is U.S. citizenship.



I am a Reagan fan but have to admit, the amnesty passed by Reagan was a disaster. It was not one of Reagan's better moments.

Why is it you REALLY BELIEVE the core characteristic of "amnesty" is BEING NAMED "amnesty?"

THERE ALREADY IS a path to citizenship for the people you describe. Obama and #yesEVERYdemocrat want to pay-out SPECIAL BENEFITS available ONLY to criminal infiltrators and NOT available to lawful entrants NOR actual citizens.

Propose bipartisan legislature, weigh it down with conservative ideas.

Then complain when it is passed, claiming it was 100% liberal.

Make sure the complaints are only thinly based in reality.



The Dream Act isn't amnesty, the last president to propose Amnesty was Reagan.



These are exactly the people who should in fact cut to the front of the line. Innocent of any crime. English speaking. Proven to be law abiding.





Yet Republicans would rather give preferential treatment to the rich.



If you're a millionaire, made rich in a undeveloped country, they let you in.



If your parents have robbed enough to afford boarding school in the US for you, you get in.





Why allow the operators of the death squads and the robber barons to get visas. while banning kids willing to join the US Military?
