Question:
McCain supporters do you honestly believe that Obama is portraying himself to be someone who he is not?
2008-08-19 10:52:07 UTC
For example, that he is a Muslim, that he hates America, that he has some kind of agenda. Well, can you prove it? Guilt by association will not work either. McCain has his own skeletons. So, for you to argue guilt by association would open up an inquiry on McCain's agenda. Why can't you take Obama for his word? You cannot win any type of argument that would prove McCain is any more honest than Obama. They are politicians! So, if you take McCain for his word, then why not Obama? Instead, many McCain supporters accuse Obama on false grounds. So, can you prove these grounds to not be false?

I don't believe that nonsense about being muslim, or his hidden agenda, or his Ayers association....that is all a bunch or rubbish. I don't agree with many of his ideas or political views though which is why I lean toward McCain. You are right though, that they are politicians, and both have flaws. In fact I think McCain has the bigger trust issue with his infidelity to his first wife.

I would just assume vote for none of the above but too much is at stake, so I have to go with the lesser of two evils.

Why don't I take Obama at his word...

1. He has changed his politices from when he ran for the Democrat nomination to one's that are more moderate during the general election.

2. He makes comments in private that he would not say in public, such as "they turn to guns and religion out of antpathy"

3. He was the 1st person to call for the firing of Imus for Imus's comments about Female basketball players but too months to denounce the similar comments made by Revernend Wright.

3. His campaign is "Change you can believe IN', says the Republicans have tired old ideas but when you look at his plans and policies they are exactly what Kerry and Gore ran on. His Windfall tax, straight out of the 80's.

His plan for releasing oil reserves to bring prices down. Bill Clinton September 2000

4. He makes racial implied comments towards Republicans (and previously Clinton) without any basis ofor the comments.

5. He always plays the victim and doesn't seem to grasp the idea that yes, Obama's experiences and beliefs are a major issue to voters.

6. He has no track record of delivering any goods, let alone the one's he is promising in this election.

Please give me one single major piece of legislation that Obama has ever delivered?????

No, he is telling me EXACTLY who he is and what he intends to do.

Obama will raise taxes, thereby putting the US in a non-competitive position vis a vis other countries in the world leading to a loss of jobs in the US. This will lead to a decline in the US economy harming the poor, working and middle class.

The increase in taxes will also lead to inflation harming those who can least afford it.

Obama will block the efforts to make us energy independent by using our own natural resources until we can develop economically viable forms of alternative energy which will jeopardize our national security.

Obama will withdraw forces from Iraq without regard for the advice of military and foreign affairs advisers with whom he disagrees because of political pressures from the radical left to whom he is endebted.

This will jeopardized the security of the US and our allies in the region and in Europe.

Obama will renege on trade agreement, particularly Fast Track, leading to a lack of faith in the US by valuable allies around the world. This will also lead to a loss of valuable export-related jobs throughout the US, especially high-paying manufacturing jobs in the high-tech sector, affecting a positive US balance of trade.

Obama will promote union legislation that will jeopardize workers' rights, particularly the sacred right to the secret ballot, and leave workers vulnerable to intimidation in the workplace and at home.

Obama will appoint judges to the Federal bench who do not value the US Constitution, but choose to interpret it according to polls and personal whim.

How many more do you want?

Isn't that enough?

I don't care about any of the incidental crap.

Obama says EXACTLY what he would do if elected.

He has been honest about his intentions.

Those intentions are WRONG for America.

We don't need any other reasons to vote against him.

In politics, everyone is portraying themselves to be someone who they are not. Obama acts the way he did because he wants to get more supporters and so does McCain. But I wouldn't go as far as to say Obama hates America or anything like that lol

I believe he isnt because he doesnt even believe in the value of his own words. After the whole reverend wright incendt, he make a speech about race and how we should all get behind race. A month or so later, one of his deligates was at home and some neighborhood children were in their tree. They called out "the tree is not for climbing on by a bunch of monkeys, get out of my tree". the children were black, and the person in question was hispanic. obama accepted their resignation without even caring to hear the details of the incident.

how many of you call your own child a monkey when they are climbing on things? it isnt racist, only if adults make it racist. i dont believe this case a racist. i think obama is hiding himself the way ALL politicians do. look at john edwards. as for november, im voting for bob barr.

I'm not so gullible that I believe everything I am told--things are rarely ever as they appear..no, I don't trust Obama and I do not take him at his word.Do you automatically take everything at face value? I would agree both cadidates have skeletons..all people do.It's a matter of deciding what one finds acceptable and what one find unacceptable..I do not find terrorist, socialism, acceptance of partial birth abortion or the use of racism and dividing a country to further a political campaign acceptable.

Obama is not a liar, He never says anything that makes sense,He repeats what he hears from his 2 hundred advisers and gets confused,The man has a serious problems from the affects of drug use,His brain doesnt, function quickly enough to answer questions spontaneously This is why he sounds like a moron when answering questions

I think it demonstrates how cynical many people in the country have become.

If somebody is running for president, he or she must be a loyal American with only the best interests in the country. It applies to any organization if you think about it. The president of a company should have the best interests of the company in mind.

From day one Obama's entire political career has been manufactured and guided by those that pull his strings. He is not his own man hes merely a puppet of those that placed him in this position for their own political gain. Obama's just their mouth piece, hes told what to vote for and not to vote for hence all the present votes. Hes told what to say and when to say it hence all the floundering without a script. So to answer your question yes i truly believe and know the truth about this man Obama hes a charlatan and a farce.

Well I haven't heard him talk about his friend Jodie Evans of Code Pink.

Code Pink, At A Mock War Crimes Tribunal In Istanbul signed A Declaration That The Iraqi Insurgency 'Deserved The Support Of People Everywhere Who Care For Justice And Freedom.

Evans represented Code Pink at the mock war crimes tribunal. In addition to expressing Code Pink's support for the insurgency, Evans published a statement from Istanbul personally endorsing the insurgency that has killed thousands of American troops and free Iraqis:

"We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and defending their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love. The Iraqi people are fighting for their country, to protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for their lives, and we are fighting for lies." (AlterNet, June 26, 2005)

Evans has a close relationship with the Obama campaign. She hosted Obama's first Hollywood fundraiser in February 2007, along with Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg and her ex-husband Max Palevsky.

According to Evans' Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, Evans is on a first name basis with Obama and discussed Iraq policy with Obama at another Hollywood fundraiser on June 24, 2008.

Evans is listed on the Obama website as having bundled between $50,000 and $100,000. She has also contributed the maximum $2300 to his primary campaign, according to FEC records.

I believe he is very anti American.

Can you prove any where that McCain has friends like these?

Obama employer, friend and associate, Bill Ayers, has had a 20 year relationship with Obama, and continues to be an Obama supporter.

Ayers, shown standing on the American flag, was a ferocious, violent, revolutionary Marxist in his halcyon days as a Weatherman leader. He and his Weatherman bombers were enamored of Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Mao Tse-tung -- indeed, all the murderous heroes on the Left. Referring to the Weatherman members in August 1969, he said (according to the FBI): "We’re revolutionary Communists."

In the sixties, Ayers advocated that young people kill their parents, and his wife, the terrorist, Bernadine Dohrn praised the Charles Manson murders. Alongside their Weather Underground cohorts, the pair declared war on the United States and participated in a bombing campaign that hit the Capitol, the Pentagon, and numerous law enforcement agencies. The couple eventually reinvented themselves -- first as academics, then as players in Chicago-area Democratic politics.

--------------------------------------...

Crack cocaine addict and former DC Mayor, Marion Barry, offered his endorsement on the May 14th O’Reilly Factor -- "I support Barack Obama, he is a good man," said Barry.

--------------------------------------...

Cuban dictator Fidel Castro backs Obama.

The former communist president of communist Cuba, Fidel Castro, is supporting Barack Obama in the race for the White House. Castro, who stepped down in February because of continuing poor health, said the Democratic Senator was the most "advanced" candidate running for the U.S. presidency.

--------------------------------------...

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said on February 23rd, 2008, that presidential candidate Barack Obama is the "hope of the entire world."

"This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better," he said. "This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama's audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed."

Farrakhan compared Obama to the religion's founder, Fard Muhammad, who also had a white mother and black father.

"A black man with a white mother became a savior to us," he told the crowd of mostly followers. "A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall."

Farrakhan rebuilt the Nation of Islam, which promotes black empowerment and nationalism, in the late 1970's after W.D. Mohammed, the son of longtime leader Elijah Mohammed, moved his followers toward mainstream Islam.

Farrakhan has drawn attention for calling Judaism a "gutter religion" and suggesting crack cocaine might have been a CIA plot to enslave blacks.

errr....no....I see him as a political opportunist with no real experience or credentials worthy of consideration for the most important office in our nation....I see that he relies heavily on showmanship, rhetoric and superficiality so all I can do is look at who stands behind him....

...there, I see Kennedy, Kerry, Carter and a whole slew of political opportunists, social engineers and policy disasters past and present...

...Since knocking off Hillary I have been patiently waiting for him to portray something OTHER than the above....

....still waiting...

McCain does have skeletons, yes. But Nobama has many more, and dangerous ones.

He goes to church for years not realizing that it is a radical church until he runs for President and things are pointed out to him. There are too many things he has flip flopped on. I just don't see much good in him. A kick in the @ss is change but not one I'm looking for.

i don't call being a donating member of the church he went to as "guilt by association", nor do approve of his wife saying that "this is the first time i'm proud of the usa". i also didn't care for the "typical white person" remark.
