Obama's administration is out of sync on rationing - does this show that they haven't thoroughly considered all aspects of health care?

Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius were a tad out of sync this morning on the issue of whether our current health care system already rations care.

"I don't think we're rationing care today. And similarly, they would not be in the future," Orszag said on "Fox News Sunday," referring to a proposal to use a federal commission to re-allocate health spending to make it more efficient.

But, appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," Sebelius said rationing is precisely what's happening now.

"Rationing is going on each and every day and it's done in the private market," Sebelius said.

Obama's administration has thought it out. This is the solution to the social security problem. With socialized medicine, people over 62 will get little to no healthcare. They will still pay for it but will simply be put on a list for treatment and will never get to the top. Then they die, then the government solves the social security deficit. Socialized medicine is rationed and managed. You pay but most will get none. Also, I hope AARP is happy with Obama. They are very left wing libreral. My grandma won't even bring the AARP magazine into her home.

If you think we're not rationing today, you're an incredibly stupid person, or else just dishonest. We ration based on income and job status. If you're rich, or if you have "good" insurance, you get good care. If you're poor or don't have insurance, you don't get good care. Sometimes you don't get any care at all.

We already ration. Denying it is pointless. The question isn't whether we ration, since we do. The question is whether it's possible to get better outcomes for less money by cutting out insurance companies. It is possible.

You're working for the insurance companies. Why? What are for-profit insurance companies doing to earn your loyalty? The rest of us hate them, and for very good reason.

Edit: And he's wrong. So? Do you think he's automatically right by virtue of his name or position? Orszag also said that the radical right wing is trying to delay any action on health care so they can kill it:

And he and Obama agree about the right solution, irrespective of this disagreement over the definition of the word rationing.

This is a typical right-wing tactic: try to create the appearance of discord where none exists, and then use that discord as an excuse to delay and delay and delay. You're not asking a question - you're promoting an agenda. So I ask again: why? What's in it for you?

You are fooling no one. You are trying to make hay over a disagreement over the definition of a single word. And since these two actually agree about what the solution should be, who cares about this distractor?

"thoroughly considering all aspects" of ANYTHING is a virtual impossibility---witness the bush cabal, who failed to thoroughly consider even SOME of the aspects of illegally invading iraq. Health care reform is thought by most to be in need of an overhaul, but "all aspects" cannot be covered.

Yes

Obama's insistence on government run Healthcare option will eventually enable a Socialistic System that will provide the highest cost and poorest quality Healthcare available in the World today.

All signs they are trying to do something very complicated way too fast. If Obama wants to get re-elected, they should pass it near the end of his first term so people don't realize how bad it is until they've re-elected him. Dems are shooting themselves in the foot.

Also is this a question or a statement?
