He is the common man. Liberals supposedly represent the common man, Obama loves to make that claim, but if the common man challenges them, then they belittle him. Liberals, especially the liberal media, is full of sh*t.

Unbelievable that some dolts are actually comparing Joe the plumber to William Ayers the terrorist.

What is wrong with you people?

I thought democrats were on the side of the working man?

Instead they sell him down the river if he doesn't appear to support their party.

Pathetic.

By reading this thread I see many people ae clearly in denial of the facts facing Obama.

William Ayers is a friend of Obamas.

They worked together and broke bread together,

Why is that wrong?

William Ayers is responsible for bombing a judges family, killing a cop and the death of his bomber girlfriend.

William Ayers is unrepentant terrorist .

That means he is not sorry and would possibly do it again if he could (he said so in an interveiw)

"Guilty as sin and free as a bird" is how Ayers describes himself.

He is just like Timothy McVeigh.

Why would Obama want to be associated with such a person.

Somethings are forgivable but this is not one of those things.

Try to think rationally and leave Joe alone.

Because the liberal media is on a honeymoon with Obama. As such, they have become attack dogs on anyone who causes any problems for their Obama. Although it was Obama that infiltrated Joe's neighborhood, lies have been spun that Joe was a plant. Impossible, because Joe lives there...no way was he a plant. Next, they take words that questioned Obama's tax plan and spin it out of control. Suddenly, Joe, the plumber is supposed to have said that he makes 250,000, but he never did. He stated that he hoped someday to buy a plumbing company. Then, Joe asked Obama how that would affect him if he made over 250,000. He did not answer for Obama. It was Obama that explained that he wanted to share the wealth, which is the theory of a Marxist, plain and simple, and that is a fact. Now, the liberal media is out to destroy Joe, the plumber, who in my opinion is a patriot today's American hero. Joe is middle class. The liberal media has to destroy Joe, so that they can divert the attention from Obama in hopes that the public will forget what we learned about Obama and his plan.

The liberal media is not going to go after Ayers, because in doing so they would have to go after Obama, as well. So, they attack Joe, the plumber, a typical middle class man. They refuse to report real news, just slander, but not slander that involves The Messiah.

There is nothing to say about Ayers. Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was a radical. He explained at the debate EXACTLY what his relationship with Ayers is. NOTHING. There is no relationship. He sat on a board with him along with other Democrats and Republicans. Period. Nothing else. He denounced what Ayers did 40 years ago and has denounced the things he has said over the years. Did you just tune him out when he was talking about that?

Regarding Joe the Plumber, it was McCain who kept talking to him during the debate. It was ridiculous. So what you've seen is the media following up on Joe. Nothing more.

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

What Liberal Media? Comedy Central? A few Independent weeklies?

Those television and radio stations and major dailies are owned by CORPORATIONS. Mostly Foreign Corporations at that. Has Wall Street suddenly gone Commie? I must have missed the memo.

Of course, Wall Street is upset about the Wall Street Journal. Their Editorial Page was Strictly from Right Wing, but you could always count on their news section for the straight dope. I wonder how much of our financial crisis was caused by execs and investors getting "Fox Business News" instead of the real thing that they used to get from the Journal.

As for Dr. Ayers, once America gets a good look at who he is now, the story goes away.

Joe the plumber is an illegal, unlicensed plumber, if he is a plumber at all. Ayers was a criminal defendant adjudged not guilty, but who apparently was an early organizer of the weatherman branch of the SDS forty years ago. Both involve irrelevant guilt by association, except in Joe's case, it's more like just plain old bad taste and stupid

repetition. And people making much out of either are incredibly stupid and vicious, without any real knowledge of much of anything. Those are fairly serious

differences.

Not true. Chris Matthews came down on Ayers tonight. Joe the plumber is a fraud, a Republican plant, a man who owns a bunch of businesses and owes some back taxes. He also might have a relative who is the son in law of Charles Keating. He is not your "average American guy". The guy is a fraud, and it's sad, because a real plumber or some other kind of blue collar guy or girl did not get their voice heard.

HOLLAND, Ohio – Joe the Plumber said Thursday he doesn't have a license and doesn't need one. Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as Joe the Plumber, the nickname Republican John McCain bestowed on him during Wednesday's presidential debate, said he works for a small plumbing company that does residential work. Because he works for someone else, he doesn't need a license, he said.

But the county Wurzelbacher and his employer live in, Lucas County, requires plumbers to have licenses. Neither Wurzelbacher nor his employer are licensed there, said Cheryl Schimming of Lucas County Building Regulations, which handles plumber licenses in parts of the county outside Toledo.

Wurzelbacher, who voted in the Republican primary and indicated he backed McCain, was cited by the GOP presidential candidate as an example of someone who wants to buy a plumbing business but would be hurt by Democrat Barack Obama's tax plans.

Wurzelbacher, 34, said he doesn't have a good plan put together on how he would buy Newell Plumbing and Heating in nearby Toledo.

He said the business consists of owner Al Newell and him. Wurzelbacher said he's worked there for six years and that the two have talked about his taking it over at some point.

"There's a lot I've got to learn," he said.

In Toledo on Sunday, Wurzelbacher told Obama that he was preparing to buy the plumbing company, which earns more than $250,000 a year, and said: "Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?"

Wurzelbacher said Obama's tax plan wouldn't affect him right now, because he doesn't make $250,000. "But I hope someday I'll make that," he said.

Did you just watch the Lou Dobbs show?

Yeah...you should probably stop making his show the only one you watch.

So McCain's not mocking Joe the Plumber (who doesn't even have a plumbing license) when he said at the charity event last night in Manhattan that he was quote "firing his senior advisors and all positions will now be held by Joe the Plumber." And also people making "Joe the Plumber" t-shirts and handing them to McCain at rallies and he laughs about it.

Obama and Biden especially have been fighting for working, middle-class families since they've been in the Senate. Biden knows well enough about the middle class, having grown up in the middle class himself, and travelling from Delaware to D.C. every day, and growing up in Scranton PA. Obama grew up in a family where his mom couldn't afford health insurance when she was dying of cancer, and he had to listen to her talk on the phone with insurers when she was in her hospital bed, desperate for a way to pay the bills for her treatment that she couldn't get. So to say that Obama and Biden don't have any respect or any knowledge for what the middle class or Joe the Plumber are going through, it's just crazy.

For McCain owning 7 houses and a bunch of cars, when many Americans are having to sell their extra vehicles and houses and their homes are being foreclosed on, he is definitely out of touch with the middle class.

Told the truth? About what? His name (not Joe), his profession (unlicensed plumber's helper), his buying a company (someday in his dreams), the fact that he will pay less tax with Obama (if he actually paid his taxes) Ayers is an old non-story that nobody but desperate republicans care about
I'm back...and this still sucks.
2008-10-18 00:18:33 UTC
I think this guy is completely irrelevant and I don't know why anyone is talking about him. That being said, McCain brought him up over 20 times during the debate to make him a sort of metaphorical symbol and the media interest probably stems from the same things that McCain was speaking to regarding Obama's association with Ayers - he's not what he seems, appears to have indirect ties to McCain and approached Obama, Obama did not approach him. It makes it look kind of like a plant. Not saying that he was, but it kind of seems that way.

Joe is a LIAR and Ayers told the truth. The news always goes after the sensationalism. Lying Joe is much more of a newsworthy story.

What is Ayers running for? Has he asked McSame a question about anything? If he did would Palin just avoid the question and recite talking points? How does this help my 401K?

How does McCains deceitful strategy solve anything.

The media, including conservative media, are looking at Joe because he is a bigger story than Ayers, and Joe is not much of a story at all.

Because Obama is considered the Messiah by the media and nothing he does is wrong.

The media should be getting upset over ACORN, but nooooooo. Believe me, if it was McCain with this ACORN mess, they'd be all over him in two seconds flat. But because it's Obama who's involved with it, voter fraud doesn't seem to matter.

I had the same thought. The media is also digging into this man's past like he is a presidential candidate or an advisor to McCain. Unbelievable but this same media does absolutely no digging into the past of Wright, Ayer, ACORN or Obama.
