Question:
Why R Democrats censuring a health provider from alerting its patients of Congress plan 2 eliminate Medicare?

he federal government resorted to bullying tactics when it ordered an investigation of Humana -- one of the country's biggest private insurers -- for its decision to send customers a letter alerting them about pending health reform legislation, a leading Republican charged Wednesday.

U.S. health officials launched the probe after the Louisville-based company mailed a letter to patients enrolled in its Medicare Advantage plans -- private options that replace standard Medicare -- warning that President Obama's health overhaul could eliminate important benefits of the program.

Humana said in its letter that if Medicare Advantage funding gets cut, "millions of seniors and disabled individuals ... could lose many of the important benefits and services that make Medicare Advantage health plans so valuable."

They are not eliminating Medicare. They are going to quit giving Humana millions of dollars.

Medicare will still be in tact, and seniors will still get all of their benefits.

The only difference will be that Humana won't be skimming millions in profits off the top.

Since when do insurers give a crap about patients? Only when they think they may be losing out on some profits.

Free speech means that anyone can say what they want. But companies like Humana, who are getting millions of tax dollars can't use that money to lie to taxpayers.

Free speech means you say what you want, but don't be surprised when someone else responds or calls you a liar, especially when you lie.

Why should taxpayers pay for Humana to try to defeat healthcare reform by scaring Medicare patients?

The insurance companies are reaping a windfall under Medicare Advantage. That windfall will be eliminated when the program is absorbed under traditional Medicare. Hence the need to scare the seniors into opposing health care reform by spreading lies.

This is not only correct it is very true, I have Humana as my provider.

And yes I got the letter. Therefore I know Obama and his goons

are balled faced liars. thank you very much.

J M has not one clue of what he speaks. Those of us who

have Humana know what we speak. Advantage care plan

is for people making less than 10K per year on totally fixed

incomes. SO JM speak for yourself not for those that know

what in the hell they are talking about.
