No, and the reason why he rejected any possibility of being VP is that he knew his extramarital affair would be leaked to the media.
God, what a SCUMBAG he is! How could any decent man cheat on his dying wife???

I am pretty sure the answer to your question is neither. According to Nancy Pelosi, the short list includes Christopher Dodd, Joe Biden and Chet Edwards, a congressman from Texas for whom she is lobbying intensely.
The long list includes Kathleen Sibelius and Bill Richardson. I am pretty sure he has about ruled out Richardson, as well as Hilary Clinton, Tom Kaine and Jim Webb (who I really like).
The timing of John Edwards' disclosure is interesting. I think it is highly likely that he will go the way of Gary Hart -- a politician of high intelligence and promise who lives out his days in relative obscurity and shame. He has not only squandered his political capital, but he has lost stock as a man. How Baptist of him to think he needed to disclose his personality shortcomings to the general public as part of his confessional! Last time I checked, taxes were not tithes and the American public was not his congregation. If he thinks his self importance was a passing fancy, he ought to look his narcissistic self in the eye and recognize his guilty, histrionic ramblings for what they are - an impossible attempt at redeeming himself with a public that will forget about him in short order.
I feel for Elizabeth.

Long list. He has been on the ticket before for VP.

Considering how liberal he is, I am quite sure he was on the VERY short list. Obama, "that is not the John Edwards I knew." How many people has Obama had to say this about so far?
Obama will lose!

Supposedly Edwards was on the short list, would have been a great if the 'chosen one" chose Edwards.

With his features, it was the short list.

If you asked Obama a few weeks ago, he would have said he was on the short list. Now, he was never even considered.

In view of revelations of the sex scandal that recently broke, I doubt that he is on any list, except maybe his wife's s**t list.

Probably not the short list since people will still (consciously or subconsciously) associate him with Kerry's losing campaign.

Long list. He really would've brought nothing to the ticket.
He wouldn't even bring his home state.

I don't think he was on the list at all. He is well liked, and I'm sure he will remain popular, but I think his political career is over.
That's only because Democrats actually like their leaders to be moral, unlike Republicans who don't care what their side does.

I think he was probably on both. A shame that he has private problems, I think he is quite capable in business and politics.

He was on the non-existent list.
Edwards wasn't even on the radar for V.P.

Neither. Obama has no intention of sharing the spotlight with anyone.

Since Obama is running on a juvenile delinquent ticket I would not put anything past him.

I dont think he was in serious consideration.
2008-08-11 12:44:45 UTC
I doubt he made either list.
2008-08-11 12:44:40 UTC
yes, he was.
