Or is he still really a quiet member of Trinity's church of Hate.

President-elect Barack Obama has yet to attend church services since winning the White House earlier this month, a departure from the example of his two immediate predecessors.

On the three Sundays since his election, Obama has instead used his free time to get in workouts at a Chicago gym.

What and be disrespectful to Reverend Wright? You didn't really think he threw him under the bus did you? No, loyalists never do that. He is being counseled in private I guarantee it!

A President should not be blending church and state. Good for him. Religious belief should not be a litmus test for the job of President. Church attendance or belief should be a private matter and not open to public scrutiny.

Religion is an entirely personal matter and if Obama feels closer to his god by playing basketball rather than sitting on his butt on hard church pew then he is well within his rights to do so and you are out of line for suggesting that a church is required in order him to talk to God.

I'm convinced that Obama is an atheist, but is too pragmatic to admit it, and that's fine by me. It's a disgrace that the American people would rather vote a convicted murderer into the White House than an atheist. This says so little about the intelligence level of the average American. Obama's time is MUCH better spent at the gym than at some church listening to some fairy tale. I hope he really builds those muscles up.

When's the last time YOU were in a church? And don't lie, that's one of the things they teach you NOT to do, in case you didn't know.

No...

maybe he is abstaining because he does not want whatever church he goes to

to be an issue...but it seems that some can make an issue of anything..

Edit: Obamas valued their faith experience in Chicago but were concerned about the impact their large retinue may have on other parishioners.

"Because they have a great deal of respect for places of worship, they do not want to draw unwelcome or inappropriate attention to a church not used to the attention their attendance would draw,"

That is from your link...

And? So? Why should you care if the man works out? What's the matter with you?

It probably is.

Since Obama never really attended church ("Rev." Wright's Black Liberation Theology indoctrination center wasn't really a church) it doesn't surprise me that he's shunned any spiritual guidance since being elected.

However, I'm sure he does pray 5 times a day while kneeling and facing Mecca.

When did going to church have anything to do with being POTUS? Remember the First Amendment?

Good. I like a President who's got his priorities straight...

IDK. I just want him to do a good job at running this country.

I do not care about his church, gym or whatever.

Ask about something relevant to the issues affecting Americans everyday.
