Well unless they admit she was the President while Bill played games, then her only experience is being first lady. Getting elected in a State that has 7 million registered Democrats vs 3 million Republicans isn't exactly an ringing endorsement of ability heck they could have put up Donald Duck and won.

In her time in the Senate, Hillary has sponsored 21 bills that have become law including:

— a bill that extended the availability of unemployment assistance.

— a bill which established a program to assist family caregivers.

— a bill that provided benefits to public safety officers who were killed or injured during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

— Hillary worked with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to expand access to health care for the National Guard and Reserve.

— Hillary passed an amendment that created a national program for teacher and principal training and recruitment.

— Hillary used Senate rules to force the Bush administration to make emergency contraception, also known as Plan B, available over the counter.

Meanwhile, the email gives Sen. Obama credit for every bill he introduced or signed on as a co-sponsor, whether or not they became law. The reality is, since Sen. Obama joined the Senate (applying the same standard the email applies to Hillary) he has sponsored two bills that have become law:

— a bill that sought to promote democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

— a bill that named a post office.

Well being first lady doesn't mean she had presidential experience. But she did get experience in that role that would contribute to her overall package. Some things I know she did as first lady - since this position seems to be the biggest thing people like to deny:

As first lady she and Ted Kennedy created the State Children's Health Insurance Plan. This was after the failure of congress to accept her health care plan - that she did a lot of research and planning for. She learned from that what works and what doesn't. The Children's Plan covered 6.6 million children with insurance in 2006 alone.

She successfully sought to increase research funding for prostate cancer and childhood asthma at the National Institutes of Health.

Together with Attorney General Janet Reno, Clinton helped create the Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice.

She initiated and shepherded the Adoption and Safe Families Act.

She travelled to 80 countries working with other world leaders and earning their respect. During Bill's first term she frequently went there alone.

Has been active in human rights aroundt the world - experiencing other world issues and speaking out against inequality in places like China and some Muslim countries.

regrettably, we don't vote for applicants because of the fact of their skills. We vote for the suited looking candidate, or man or woman who speaks nicely and says the flaws we'd desire to pay attention. The candidate who spends the main money wins ninety% of the time, what does that advise to you? That being mentioned, Hillary isn't a thoroughly unaccomplished lady. She became right into a president's spouse for 8 years and, in accordance to Republicans, she became into the actual innovations of the administration. (in certainty it form of feels hypocritical of Republicans to accuse her of working the Clinton administration for 2 words, and then now to declare she has no journey! 8^) ) She's worked out as a senator, I advise you could no longer trust what she's achieved yet she's shown she has her very own suggestions and would not take any guff from all people. She's extremely clever and savvy and has good political experience. Ask an identical question approximately GW Bush in 2000. One and a a million/2 words as governor in an exceptionally vulnerable-governor state, somewhat no extra beneficial than a figurehead. He'd not at all succeeded in something in his existence, in certainty he'd not at all made an effortless dollar in his total existence! He could no longer answer questions, he could say 'i do no longer could desire to comprehend approximately that, i will hire somebody who's well-known with approximately that'. He could desire to infrequently positioned a sentence at the same time. in certainty his lack of know-how and incuriosity have been his chief advertising factors!

She was hired by the Rose Law Firm only after her husband became Attorney General. She was made partner only after her husband became Governor. So that proves she knows how to seize an opportunity.

She turned a $1000 investment into $100,000 in cattle futures while others lost money. That proves she is a financial genius.

She was involved in a real estate scandal where her two partners went to jail and she didn't. That proves she knows how to sidestep some landmines.

On the day her husband was to be sworn in as President she told a Secret Service agent to , "go f*ck himself" when he tried to explain to her that he cannot carry her luggage from the helicopter to the limo because his hands must be free at all times. This proves she has the diplomatic skills necessary for the job.

She and her husband had US Marine guards in full dress uniform serving food during the inaugural ball. This proves she has nothing but the utmost respect for our troops.

She had the head of the White House Travel Office fired, a man who held that position since JFK, and replaced him with her cousin. This proves she has a sense of fair play.

On the first day in the White House she had the Vice Presidents office relocated so her office could be closer to Bill's. This proves she is not afraid to buck 200 years of protocall and tradition.

She carried out a smear campaign against Jennifer Flowers, Cathrine Willey, Paula Jones, and Monica Lewinsky, to name a few. This proves her loyalty and strong family values where her husband is concerned.

While testefying before the Whitewater Committee she developed " selective amnesia ". This proves she can improvise and think on her feet.

When the Monica's blue dress with the Presidental DNA stain became public, she responded by attacking her husband with a lamp and an ashtray. This proves she knows how to respond in a crisis situation.

While running for the Senate in NY, she tried to get her husband to pardon the FALN terrorist, who blew up Frances' Tavern, where a NYC police officer was blinded, because she thought it would get her votes in the Puerto Rican community. Needless to say the NY Puerto Rican community was outraged and insulted. This proves she has her finger on the pulse of the people.

When she moved from the White House to Chappaque, she helped herself to some valuable works of art that were donated to the White House and now hang in her new home. This proves she is comfortable with the trappings and privileges that go with the position.

While visiting the troops in Afghanastan she posed for some photos with some soldiers. After the photos were released worldwide it showed the soldiers were flashing the " under duress" sign. This proves that she is loved and respected by our troops.

When she ran for Senator in NY she promised the NY voters that she had no intention to run for President and she will serve the people of NY to the best of her ability. This proves she has the flexability to handle the job.

When she was fanatically defending her husband against the vast right wing conspiracy during the "bimbo eruptions" he was out there banging anything that moved. That proves that she is either the biggest fool on earth or a goddamn lier !

What has Obama ever accomplished as a Senator? I can tell you she accomplished more than he ever could! She's the one to bring the best change into our country that is needed after Bush messed it all up. If you listen to her debates, she's def. one up on Obama. You can tell she has so much experience, but not only that she wants to see change in our country as well, but I don't think what she promises is empty like Obama.

a lot of the things she passes off as experience is just a bunch of political BS. obama has had a pretty smooth ride to where he is now, so i don't think he is the most qualified to be president either. i do agree with you to a point, but in the last few months i am more impressed with her background than i thought i should be.

Are you trying to use the same arguement against who you support to make an arguement against hillary. If thats the case then you agree. Don't vote for Obama or Hillary.

Circular logic

but to answer, she has passed 20 bills in her 6 years in office. He has passed 2 in his eight years.

OH but he will give you an ear full on what he has "worked" on in congress. None of which he followed through on.

She worked on capitol hill out of law school during Nixon's impeachment hearings. She worked for the children's defense fund as a young adult. She worked to get the CHIP program for children's health insurance. She's advocated for women's rights across the globe. And she has been a senator for almost 8 years.

She may have 35 years of life experience on Obama but politically she has as many years as a senator as Obama, counting his time as a State senator. For some reason she seems to think being the wife of a president counts for experience???? I don't get it.

A hell of lot more than G.W.Bush ! And it didn't cost the life's of close to 4,000 American Soldiers . Now can you tell the world just what G.B.Bush has done to keep him as the President ???????

Biography

Hillary Rodham Clinton was elected to the United States Senate by the people of New York on November 7, 2000, after decades of public service on behalf of children and families.

A strong advocate for New York, Hillary works with communities across the state to strengthen the economy and to expand opportunity. She is the first New Yorker ever to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee, working to see that America’s military has the necessary resources to protect our national security. And Hillary supports a return to fiscal responsibility, because she knows that wise national economic policies are essential to protect America’s future.

Senator Clinton also serves on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; the Environment and Public Works Committee; and the Special Committee on Aging. She chairs the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee, which is responsible for communicating with the public about key issues before Congress.

After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Hillary worked with her colleagues to secure the funds New York needed to recover and rebuild . She fought to provide compensation to the families of the victims, grants for hard-hit small businesses, and health care for front line workers at Ground Zero. And she continues to work for resources that enable New York to grow, to improve homeland security for New York and other communities, and to protect all Americans from future attacks. She has introduced legislation to provide for direct and threat-based homeland security funding to ensure that first responders and high-target communities have the resources they need.

In 2004, Senator Clinton was asked by the Department of Defense to serve as the only Senate member of the Transformation Advisory Group to the Joint Forces Command. She has visited troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, at Fort Drum in New York, home of the 10th Mountain Division and other New York bases, as well as at Walter Reed Military Hospital, to learn first hand the challenges facing American combat forces. She is an original sponsor of legislation that expanded health benefits to members of the National Guard and Reserves.

Continuing her work for children and families in the Senate, Hillary led efforts to ensure the safety of prescription drugs for children, with legislation now included in the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act; worked to strengthen the Children’s Health Insurance Program which increased coverage for children in low income and working families, and helps schools address environmental hazards.

Senator Clinton continues to work to increase access to health care. She authored legislation that has been enacted to improve recruitment and retention of nurses, to improve quality and lower the cost of prescription drugs, and to protect our food supply from bioterrorism. She sponsored legislation to increase America’s commitment against Global AIDS, and is now leading the fight for expanded use of information technology in the health care system to decrease administrative costs and reduce medical errors.

To help businesses expand, Senator Clinton co-sponsored legislation enacted in 2004 to extend tax credits to communities that can help businesses in regions designated as Renewal Communities. She has sponsored conferences and business development tours throughout the state, aimed at attracting new investment; introduced legislation to increase access to broadband technology in rural areas; and serves as Honorary Chair of the Advisory Committee for New Jobs for New York.

Hillary has spoken clearly about the importance of protecting our constitutional rights, respecting such landmark Supreme Court decisions as Roe v. Wade. Her commitment to supporting Roe and working to reduce the number of abortions, by reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies, was hailed by the New York Times as “frank talk...(and) a promising path.” Hillary is one of the original cosponsors of the Prevention First Act to increase access to family planning.

Hillary is strongly committed to making sure that every American has the right to vote in fair, accessible, and credible elections -and that every vote must be counted. She has introduced the Count Every Vote Act of 2005 to provide a verified paper ballot for every vote cast in electronic voting machines; set a uniform standard for provisional ballots, and require the Federal Election Assistance Commission to issue standards that ensure uniform access to voting machines and election personnel in every community. Because the Republican Congress has been unwilling to deal with this issue, Hillary is working with advocacy groups and citizen volunteers to build the demand for action.

Hillary was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 26, 1947, the daughter of Dorothy Rodham and the late Hugh Rodham. Her father was a small businessman, and Hillary has often spoken of learning from her experience with the family business. After graduating from Wellesley College and Yale Law School, she practiced law in Arkansas.

Hillary was appointed by President Jimmy Carter in 1977 to chair the United States Legal Services Corporation, and also served as head of the American Bar Association Committee on Women in the Profession. She was Chair of the Board of the Children’s Defense Fund, a national advocacy group for the interests of children, from 1986-1991.

Senator Clinton is married to former President William J. Clinton and they have a daughter, Chelsea. The Clintons live in Chappaqua, New York. President Clinton now heads the William J. Clinton Foundation, focused on the international battle against HIV/AIDS; racial, ethnic and religious reconciliation; economic empowerment of poor people; and citizen service. He was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve with former President H. W. Bush as a special Presidential Delegation to build support for tsunami relief, and was appointed Special Envoy by the Secretary-General of the United Nations for tsunami-affected countries.

As First Lady of the United States from 1993-2001, Hillary led efforts to make adoption easier and increase support for families in the adoption and foster care system; to increase funding for breast cancer research and treatment and for children’s vaccinations; and to make education, health care, and economic opportunity available for women and girls around the world. As keynote speaker at the United Nations Fifth International Conference on Women, in Beijing China, she spoke for the rights of women and girls around the world, saying “Women’s rights are human rights and human rights are women's rights."

Hillary's leadership as First Lady was recognized by the many awards she received, including: the Elie Wiesel Foundation Humanitarian Award; Martin Luther King Jr. Award, Progressive National Baptist Convention; Family Circle Woman Who Makes a Difference Lifetime Achievement Award; National Federation of Black Women Business Owners, Black Women of Courage Award; National Association of Elementary School Principals Distinguished Service Award; Save the Children Distinguished Service Award, The National Council for Adoption, "For advocacy on behalf of adoption"; Henrietta Szold Award, Hadassah; and the Irish American Peace Prize, by Irish American Democrats.

Since being elected to the Senate, her awards for public service include: The Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, United States Department of Defense; President’s Award, League of United Latin American Citizens; Senator of the Year, National Multiple Sclerosis Society; The Military Order of the Purple Heart, in recognition of her initiative and perseverance in assisting the Military Order of the Purple Heart; National Hispanic Medical Association, for leadership in improving the health of Hispanics; Woman of Steel, Role Model of the Year, United Steel Workers of America; the 2004 Women in Politics Award, The National Hispana Leadership Institute; International Women’s Philanthropy Award by the Lion of Judah Conference, of Combined Jewish Philanthropies; the Cesar E. Chavez Award of the Cesar E. Chavez Foundation; and the Distinguished Bridge Builder Award, Leon H. Sullivan Foundation.

Hillary's memoir, Living History, was published in June, 2003 and has now sold more than 3 million copies. She has also written It Takes a Village: and Other Lessons Children Teach Us; Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kids Letters to the First Pets; and An Invitation to the White House, a tribute to the historic home of the nation's First Families.
