I don't know about you, but the idea of some non-medical bureaucrat telling me what I can and can't have in the way of medical care is downright frightening. Especially the part about euthanasia for us Senior Citizens.

I think that the person who wrote this perhaps overstates the government's involvement in healthcare. In Britain we have universal healthcare under the NHS, which is government run. But, it operates separately from the government, as in, all medical decisions are made by doctors, if you need a treatment to live you will get it, euthanasia is illegal, you only ever see a doctor, not a bureaucrat, and people do not die whilst waiting for treatment!

I understand people why people are vary of big government, but with 47 million Americans without health insurance, something needs to be done! Health care is a right, not a privilege

I am appalled at what I just read! What in the world are they thinking anyway? Are the member of the house and Senate going to follow these ridiculous things with their healthcare plan? Absolutely not. I am a senior, and this is stupid. What about the senior members of the house and senate? Once this is passed (and unfortunately, it will be passed because the Dems have the majority), there will be so many unhappy citizens. I am actually afraid there might be riots in certain areas. And non US citizens will get full coverage, same as citizens? Again, I am appalled. What can we do anyway? What say you liberals out there anyway? Are you happy with this?
