Changes that we do not need or want. He is a Socialist and is planning to take America that way.

Obama Would Ruin Economy With Tax Hike

By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann Article Font Size

The Wall Street mess now takes center stage in the presidential race. With company after company biting the dust, can John McCain survive as the representative of the incumbent party?

So far, McCain has focused on a populist criticism of Wall Street and its irresponsibility, firing away at corporate greed and lending practices. But he has to fuse the issues of the economy and taxes to show how Barack Obama's tax proposals would lead to a catastrophic implosion of the nation's capital base.

With the top Wall Street houses crashing for a want of capital, how can Obama justify an increase, and perhaps a doubling, of the capital-gains tax?

Obama has already said he might drop his tax hikes if the economy weakens. After noting that it's pretty sad when your best idea for how to help the economy is to abandon your own proposals, McCain should call on Obama to give up on those new taxes right now.

People will sit on their capital rather than invest it if their gains are to be taxed at twice the current rate. And raising taxes on a troubled economy is akin to bleeding a sick patient — medieval "medicine" that does more to kill than to cure.

McCain needs to force Obama to choose between his leftist commitment to income redistribution and the common-sense point that higher taxes on investors and "the rich" would merely deepen the economic mess.

If Obama refuses to abandon his tax hikes, he'll be seen as putting his ideology ahead of the nation's needs. If he does the reverse, he'll be admitting that his tax program has been a mistake — and, by recanting, show how unsteady his hand would be on the tiller.

Hiking taxes at the outset of a slowdown has always made things worse. McCain need point no further back than the first President George Bush, whose tax increase hit just as the economy was slowing from the Reagan expansion — triggering a recession that let Bill Clinton win the White House.

As the financial failures spread, voters will focus on the bad news and be inclined to hand the White House to the party that's out of power. But if they focus focus on the cure Obama proposes, the bad economy could work to McCain's benefit.

I think Obama will be an effective President and will balance his duty with our expectations. He has proven he can effectively delegate over others? His campaign can attest to that.

He's very organized and focused...

He'll

1. Accept feedback

A. Knows what the task is

B. Appoint quality leaders (capable people hire capable help)

C. Over see progress (modify or stick to the plan)

D. Make adjustments (promote & fire)

E. Promote the Country ( repair foreign relations, you never know who we'll need in time of crisis.)

Tonight's debate looked like a "few good men".

I'm sure McCain ordered the code red!

Could McCain have been more arrogant and condescending?

You have to first start with negations before you call for weapons. If Bush had thought of that, , America may have possibly saved $400 billion dollars on a war, that has taken over 3000 American Military lives. And remember, there were no WMD. America has lost creditability and respect throughout the World. Did you happen to see how well Obama was received in Germany? America needs more of that.

He is a visionary who believes the country and world can be so much better than they are now. Like FDR, Kennedy, Reagan, and Clinton before him, he understands the core responsibility of a president, which is to set the tone for the nation so we can take ownership of our issues and work to make them better. He expects us all to get involved in getting us out of this mess, which I love because right now we are all trying to blame others for our problems. He realizes recovery will be a long hard road, and we will all need to pitch in to make it happen. His successful experience as a community organizer in urban Chicago have given him incredible team-building skills.

He is also a top-notch diplomat who can respectfully disagree and come to consensus with those who disagree with him. He is an expert at relating to different types of people, which will help him repair the many strained relations we currently have with other countries. He has a "let's work together" attitude, and that can truly improve the world. I also believe he will do an excellent job of filling his cabinet with bright, diverse talent. I'm very excited for his presidency and can't wait for the debate tonight. He is a very special man - I knew his moment was coming several years ago when I first heard him speak.

I hope he wins but Americas to corrupt to let an ethnic rule the world

I have no doubt someones pulling the strings at the poll station.

He'l be better then Bush lets put it that way but a chimp could do that. Bush used his position for the worst, to benefit his own needs, and impress his daddy by killing his daddys old enemy and stealing oil for his daddys business.

He used you americans if you vote obama that would slap him in his face, not that it will hurt much because hes got what he wanted his oil.

First he actually has a cerebral process. We are not in the 20th century and you must have allies with EVERYTHING ANYMORE. Diplomacy is the only way nations are going to exist. The weaponry that we have now can destroy the world. I know the doctrine of the Democrats are for 95% of the ppl and not the wealthy 5%. Obama being a community organizer has the one characteristic that a president should have and that is to CARE about our country and the citizens standard of living.

He can multi-task. He is NOT a 3rd term Bush. He actually takes questions from reporters and instead of a scripted answer (of a 8 second soundbite). He knows what he is talking about.

The world's perception of the USA would change dramatically as, for the first time in history, the US President would not be a white male.

Obama will seek peace through diplomacy and dialogue.

Obama will invest in education and developing new technologies, that will have a lasting positive economic impact on the US and the world.

It is time for a change, a paradigm shift, in how we view the world the US' leadership in the world.

He won't bring change. He will get in office and blame everything on Bush. We all know Bush messed up. Obama running because he said he can change. Im just not up to hearing excuses if he's elected. He should be able to twirl his magic wand. He is the chosen one right?
