Please explain to me, how is Barak Obama going to cut taxes and institute a national healthcare plan?



Reasonable health insurance costs about $60 a week. To cover the 45 million without healthcare would cost over $140 billion annually. Barak's plan is to shift this cost to households making over $250k annually.



There are roughly 120 million households in the us, 2% of which make over $250k. This means that households in this tax bracket would be taxed an average extra of over $58k in federal taxes. Households making over $250k are already taxed at roughly 30% and the Obama healthcare plan would raise this to about 50%.



Now is it logical or reasonable to expect people in the top tax bracket to pay a 50%+ federal income tax rate?



A bill with such drastic tax increases will never pass on Capitol Hill. Especially when considering that virtually all the people on Capitol Hill are in the top 2% tax bracket.



However, Obama's Robin Hood rhetoric of "rob from the rich and give to the poor" is very appealing for those affected by the current poor economic climate. It's just another way in which he sells snake oil to the disenfranchised voters in the populous.
