This is true, I'm assuming he meant policy but said country to try to get the bigger rebellious effect he was after. Or it could all be an evil plot to take down America....

I couldn't help myself, but I do feel Obama will bring the country in a worse direction with trying to change the US to be more socialistic in nature.

Change by itself is an empty promise...and politically expedient.

Love this question... he wants to change our form of government, not "clean up politics" he's the dirtiest politician out there.... If people want to live in a socialist country then move. Leave us to our capitalism here at home.

Well supporting warrant-less wiretapping and immunity certainly is not change. It looks like both candidates will equaly take away our rights and money.

McCain will break us in war'

Obama will break us in social programs

Just face it, no matter who wins the country loses.

You have hit the nail on the head, so to speak!! This is why obama will not debate with McCain at the townhall meetings......Obama knows that his "changes" will be exposed to public view...then his support will melt like ice cream on the 4th of July!!!!

Obama means to change the direction this country has been heading--SOUTH--since Bush took office.

80% are in total agreement with the man and want the same.

The PEOPLE.

Not the fruit-cake fringe minority whom want Bush to serve a third term in office by electing a man whom knows nothing about Middle-Eastern foreign policy (other than to "bomb Iran" and stay in Iraq for the next "100 years"; or until 2013--whichever comes first), and thinks that the best way to grow the economy is to have everyone in America sell stuff on E-Bay...

"Because 1.3 million people WORLDWIDE did it! So can you!"

He thinks America is a terrible place.

Listen to his speeches as he tells you how horrible it is.

Long lists of everything that is bad about it.

Nobody in Obama's America is happy.

He is really negative.

Very bad karma.

he didn't say he wanted to change the country!

l. Because he DOES want to change the country. He has a completely different vision of what this nation can/should be than say, the Founding Fathers.

2. He means just what he says. His policies redistribute wealth, restrict "acceptable" speech and thought. He is a socialist. Check into his relationship with Saul Mendelsen and the Chicago socialists.

3. I say he is a frightening wolf who has lulled the sheep into submission with promises of hand outs. Everybody loves a bargain.

He never said that last quote.

Changing the country starts with changing our policies and how we run things as of now.

Changing the country for the better is a good thing. Stagnation will rot us away unless we act. Changing this country from one that is run on oil/coal/natural gas into one that is run by renewable, clean energy is what this nation needs. We stand still or try to comfort ourselves by just drilling more and turning our energies away from getting us off fossil fuels, we eventually won't be able to keep up this "American" way of life for much longer.

We absolutely must start changing some aspects of how country is run. Even McCain, though still stuck on drilling for more oil, is starting to understand the dire situations we may face if we don't change course.

Violet- Nice answer, did you cut and paste that drivel all by yourself?

BTW, Obama is past 40, not an extremist, not a Muslim, and the Bible says nothing about a Muslim in his 40s becoming the Anti-Christ.

When you change Government you must expect to change policies - and that changes the country. If it didn't there would be no point in politics, no social development. USA does need to change. Look at its health services, the entrenched generational poverty, the widespread ignorance which makes Americans laughable when they are not remarkable. It can be better than it is. Most "anti-Americanism" is the expression of disappointment when the US fails its own high aspirations - because we all depend on it so much.

That is too funny. Even though I like to group bands into categories and subgenres myself, I've always thought that these are just for mere fun and are really, in the end, all useless. I have heard it from my dad enough to have it drilled into my brain, that who cares about all these different genres... it's all just MUSIC! And it's true... but without them we wouldn't be able to say: what do you like better, punk or grunge? etc. I think they should be taken a lot lighter, though. With that said, I'm not going to actually list those 8 categories that you want us to list, because this math homework has been sitting on my lap for the past 2 hours and I keep getting distracted... But! It will / get done.

Well sure he wants to change our Country- into Socialism. That has been Hillary's dreams since college in the 1960's which for her has been no surprise. Just with Socialized Medicine we will all be waiting in lines for needed test and procedures on wait lists. As a health-care provider I will make minimum wage. They will not be impacted by making it a socialist country- but our lives will be turned upside down for years to come. Hang on to your seats b/c if he gets elected and you factor in a Democratic dominated senate/congress we are all in for one hell of a bumpy ride.

His sites are set much higher, I'm afraid. He wants to change the world.

"Oregon: You can make that choice. But I'm gonna need you to vote for me, and if you do we will win this nomination, we will win this general election, and you and I together will change this country, and we will change the world."

I think Obama sees himself as the savior to the world. He thinks he is going to take Washington by storm and institute change. The problem is what kind of change. How far will he take his socialist ideas? He is already thinking globaly. He is setting himself high up on a pedistal.

"On December 7, 2007, Obama introduced the Senate version of the Global Poverty Act of 2007 (S.2433). On February 13, the bill cleared the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, on which Obama and 6 (Biden, Dodd, Feingold, Hagel, Lugar, Menendez) of the bill's 9 co-sponsors serve. The House version of the bill (H.R.1302) passed by a unanimous voice vote last September 25. Here's an abstract of the proposed legislation:

"To require the President to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the [U.N.] Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day."

Yeah, I feel bad for those who have next to nothing in other countries, but we are broke. Who will feed our poor? He is already putting into place, bills for the next President, whom he hopes is himself.

I think you are putting your own meaning into

this that was NEVER INTENDED. He means that the way the Country is GOVERNED, needs changing.

He will not change your family life, or your

employment, or TV or any of the daily life

things you enjoy. The CHANGE means:

ending the Iraq war/giving people affordable

health care/ bringing jobs back to America/

rebuilding our infrastructure/actually LISTENING to the American people/

STOPPING all the lies and corruption that is now in D.C politics/Stop robbing the Treasury for politicians personal gains/

Working on a feasible environmental plan.

etc. etc.

He wants more liberals on the Supreme Court so they can reinterpret our constitution just almost as they did today, trying to vote away our second amendment rights. His idea of changing this country must include allowing terrorism more opportunity to be intrusive, therefore certainly changing our country. Since he believes in the Black Liberation Movement, his ideals must be to have more plans that would be akin to Affirmative Action to change this country. There are many more I am sure, but he is so evasive as to what he really believes..who knows what he has in mind!

I think we all know what 'change' Obama wants. In his world view, we are far too stupid to take care of ourselves. Left to ourselves we are helpless victims and need his brilliance and wisdom to protect us from ourselves.

He has already got a good start with his thought police. To oppose him makes you a racist. There is a new demographic, the 'non-college educated' (ie. ignorant). It is impossible for anyone to succeed based on their own merits, the implication is that to be successful you are brutal, greedy and take advantage of the poor (by the way who wants to take advantage of the poor? By definition they don't have anything!). He wants to 'unify' but is always segregating people into different victim groups, distorting real or alleged grievances, he tells everyone how helpless they are. Someone else is always to 'blame' for everything. Need I go on?

Simply put, he has nothing but contempt for the American public. Oh, he wants 'change' alright. He wants to change America from the land of opportunity, to the land of the dependent.

apparently, this country is 'downright mean'...just ask his wife, the angriest millionaire in America

seriously, his entire campaign rests on three OBVIOUSLY retarded concepts:

#1-"America sucks"

#2-"only Obama has the solution"

#3-"the details are just a distraction and we shouldn't worry our pretty little heads about them"

He's a typical liberal ideologue who talks a good talk but it is all fluff and no substance. And if he ever DID THINK about what he is saying, he would inevitably conclude that he was wrong, or (worse) must keep lying to maintain his "image."

It's more than government policies that need changed. Obama's right: the whole country must change. Arrogance, ignorance, neglect, avarice, sloth and hubris have set in to make us weak and soft, We've been spoiled by a robust economy that has allowed us to tool around in SUVs and gas-guzzling Hummers; squander Earths' precious beauty and bounty; waste natural resources and pretty much look out for ourselves without thinking about others in the country ( and the world) who are disabled, disadvantaged, underprivileged, elderly, sick, under-educated, homeless, unemployed or hungry.

Our "all for one...ME" attitude has to change. Our selfish mentality and materialistic squalor has to change. Our moral code and ethic behavior must change. Our unwillingness to share must change. Our patriotic values must change (how many of us know the words to the 'Star Spangled Banner or bother to attend a Memorial Day parade?). Obama's right: this nation needs to CHANGE!!

Ralph Nader said it best: "There can be no daily democracy without daily citizenship". -RKO- 06/27/08

He means creating a country where greed is not considered a virtue and compassion not considered a weakness.

I agree with him.

Violet - how exactly did the book of Revelations make any sense in the 500-600 years between when it was written and when Mohammad was born. In that time nobody could have known what "muslim descent" meant.

Tell you what - I will let you do your profiling and carry out your persecution of muslim men aged between 17-40 so long as you do the same to white christian conservatives. After all the Oklahoma City bombing, the Olympic Park bombing, The Army of God's campaign of blowing up abortion clinics as well as thier sending of anthrax loaded powder to doctors, the LA Jewish Community Center shooting, the burning of the Macedonia Baptist Church, the murder of abortion clinic worker Dr Barnett Slepian, the burning of the Saint Michel theatre in Paris, the bombing of the 16th St Baptist Church, the murder of Medgar Evers and other civil rights workers in Mississippi, or the murder of Martin Luther King were not the work of muslims were they?

Ragdoll - we are as broke as the guy with the 6 bedroom house and new Porsche complaining about his credit card bill. The Global Poverty Act has broad (in fact near universal) bi-partisan support. Stop pretending it is some radical leftist idea.

To be honest if you change the Government then you change the country. Our county is the way it is due to the policies and regulations our Government implements. Anyone can see that for example look at how our country was 8 years ago compared to now

There are a lot of things about this country and how we treat many of her citizens that need to change. Read the issues that concern all Americans and you'll have your answer. Look at how sexist and racist this election season has been, and you've got your answer. Look at our education system and our healthcare system and you've got your answer. The list goes on and on.

YES, AMERICA, THIS COUNTRY, NEEDS TO CHANGE in order to be all that she was intended to be.

Obama is a Marxist Socialist. He wants to ruin and completely take USA and turn it into an Islamic run country. I am sorry that this election we have lost the good candidates running. I think Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul and Alan Keyes would have been better for USA than what choices we have. I am posting an email that should be read and sent out to others.

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine that America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves.

Pause a moment, reflect back.

These events are actual events from history.

They really happened!!!

Do you remember?

1. 1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by:

A Muslim male extremist between the ages of 17 and 40.

2. In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

3. In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

4. During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

5. In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

6. In 1985 the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and 70 year old American passenger Leon Klinghoffer was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

7. In 1985 TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by: Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

8. In 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

9. In 1993 the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

10. In 1998,the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

11. On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take down the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by:

Muslim male extremists between the of 17 and 40.

12. Since 2002 the United States has fought a war in Afghanistan against:

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

13. In 2002 reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded by-- you guessed it--

Muslim male extremists between the ages of 17 and 40.

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people...

Absolutely No Profiling!

They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave

Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40

alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

According to The Book of Revelation:

The Anti-Christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal... the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, he will destroy everything.

And Now;

For the award winning

Act of Stupidity of all times, the People of America want to elect, to the most Powerful position on the face of the Planet -- The Presidency of the United states of America

A Male Extremist of Muslim ancestry between the ages of 17 and 40.

Have the American People completely lost their minds, or just their Power of Reason???

I'm sorry but I refuse to take a chance on this 'unknown' candidate.
