Would Obama winning be the best thing that could happen to the country?

Now I don't believe that Obama has a chance of actually changing the country for the better, but I also don't believe he can destroy the country. At worst we will have another 4 years like the Carter administration and a good reminder of why we generally do not elect liberals to the Presidency. Either way McCain is not better in my opinion and the argument of voting for the "lesser of two evils" expressed by so many worries me worse than an Obama Presidency. Continuing to vote for the lesser of two evils election after election provides no catalyst for positive change which we desperately need in this country.

In that it would shock people back to reality as happened with Carter or buying SUVs after 70's gas lines - yes, it would be good for the country.

I don't know if he is the BEST thing for the country...he isn't the God send of a politician that we were all hoping for. He is still, just a politician. However, maybe a stray away from the Republicans in office would be a good change. I am all for diversity on Capital Hill, because different ideologies breed intelligent thought. There are things I like about Obama, and things I don't. I am probably voting for him this election...but am still relatively undecided. I agree with you about the "lesser of two evils" population...that is un-American and a cop out. If he is another Jimmy Carter...then I was wrong about him. Maybe...I don't see that in him, but I've been wrong before. If he is to be the next President...it would be a difficult challenge for him. He is inheriting an economy that people are scared about...not to mention the enormous pressure that he will face. Maybe McCain is far superior, and I'm just blind...but maybe America needs some liberalism. I hope he can get it right, or at least be a catalyst for a better America in the future.

There are human beings accessible that understand enhance in tarifs enhance the fee of clothing and foodstuff and the different products coming or going out of this u . s . a . so midddle type usa will take the brunt of that mistake fee will go up. increasing capital valuable aspects will result each working person who has a 401K Obama will greater then double that tax hurting the inventory industry. increasing huge business enterprise tax will throw a huge wrench into our financial gadget huge business enterprise are all waiting laying human beings off because of the financial gadget. huge business enterprise would be tempted to go away this u . s . a . for better tax cuts in foriegn international locations they pay the main important taxes interior the worldwide all waiting returned greater jobs misplaced. Obama concept with the aid of having Buffet on his area could help Buffett invested 500 million funds interior the industry to teach human beings each thing is fundamentaly sound interior the industry day after today Buffett misplaced his funds. all and sundry isn't stupid and that i'm conversing approximately Republicans and Independents they understand the place Obama's financial gadget will lead us and that's to the undesirable residing house. McCain is right we would desire to place a cap on those foreclosure and decrease the thought and pastime fee so human beings can shop there homes and Banks could be paid off then the banks will commence lending returned and the housing industry will advance returned. Europe and Canada are all waiting conversing of no longer paying for and promoting with us if Obama is elected because of the fact returned he needs to throw a wrench into the unfastened commerce settlement. Does Obama get it that that may no longer basically usa's problem yet a in many situations used problem as nicely. This guy is the main deadly person who has ever ran for president.

Bam Bam would be the worst thing that could happen to the country. Just take a look at the only bill he has sponsored in Congress, a so-called Employee Free Choice Act, which is anything but that. It will take away a secret ballot vote from employees in case they want to unionize, and will take away card check. Do people realize how this will drive business away from the United States and it will also curtailed investments. We all know that Bam Bam is in the pocket of Labor Unions, but this one is ridiculous. Something funny about this, unions overseas are pushing for secret ballots, while in the U.S. they are wanting a signature as a vote. This bill will be disastrous to the United States. Bam Bam is about the scariest thing that could happen to the country.

The worst we could have is another 4 years of Carter? Did you really say that!! Interest rates at 11.5%, unemployment at 9%, and, with obama, taxes higher than ever to support the global poverty act and socialized health care, then oil prices skyrocketing based on his "special" tax. Come on people, you guys can't be dumb enough to vote for this guy!! A better question, can you afford this man in office?

There problem here is that too many put this blame in the wrong area. You want the country to change, the first place you should try is congress, not the President. If people actually starting writing their congressmen/women about what the people want, not special interests then maybe something will actually get done to improve our country.

Absolutely NOT. The man has a skewed worldview. He believes in bringing down the rich to bring up the poor--how about we all get what we work for. He faithfully went to a rascist church for 20 yrs-he's a rascist. How many of you go to a rascist church that damns America? He will divide this country and in 4 years blow what has taken 150 yrs to mend-(race relations).

If Obama is elected, enemies of the United States around the world will be emboldened to find some way to exploit our mistake. We have no way of knowing at this point what exactly they will try, or how the US will respond, but it is certainly destabilizing. I can see Russia moving into more neighboring countries, and Iran invading Iraq. Big trouble could ensue.

No. With Obama as President and a Democratically controlled Congress we will become a cesspool of a nation within four years.

It's that "positive change" that worries me. So no I won't be taking any chances on a junior senator with no experience.

My mother is unfortunately racist, but the thing is, I actually have been noticing that Obama is trying to be seen everywhere, whiles McCain is taking his time. As said at http://network.nationalpost.com :

"But not taking his job seriously is nothing new for John McCain. He slacked his way through college, graduating at the bottom of his class. He slacked his way through his job in the military, crashing five planes in the process and costing millions in tax dollars. And despite spending almost thirty years in the legislature, and chairing the powerful Senate Commerce Committee, John McCain never bothered to learn about economics. When it comes to slacking, John McCain is as good as they get."

Yes. And I think Obama's 4 years would be more like Clintons than CArters. There are many similarities between the two men, and i think when Bill comes on Obama's side it will be more evident.
