Question:
Is it because the objectives of Christianity are impossible to attain, so the religion has been watered down?

so that there is now a popular version that says all you have to do is believe in Jesus. You can forget everything else in the Bible including Jesus' directives, if you just believe Jesus was a god. How much simpler can you make Christianity? You don't have to do a damn thing except believe that Jesus existed, an idea concocted by someone too lazy to become a Christian by following all of the various suggestions of Jesus in the Bible.

People claim the objectives of Christianity are impossible to attain (ignoring the life of Christ, evidently), with the chaotic, ineffective results we see. I think they're wanting to excuse or cover up their own behavior,. The most intriguing one to me is the 4th commandment. When you suggest to people that God wants a holiday with them every week, most Christians gets hysterical and start telling you how impossible that is. Duh? But then they get really offended if you assume that means they're breaking some of the other eleven.
